Hold on - those are the monitors I've got! Not the original one I posted - thought the price seemed good!

The machines are currently running 32 bit, but I'm currently building a 64 bit image which I'll be rolling out soon. Using WDS and waik for the imaging. I would prefer to use fog, but the current version won't join windows 7 machines to the domain. The monitors are great, and I must say this has got to be one of the best deals I've seen in a while. As an update to this - I can really only get this working when the apache user has execute rights. Is there anything I can do to avoid this?

Thanks for that fix - that works brilliantly! It's a shame that it is a bit of a security vulnerability, but hopefully this will be fixed properly further down the line with new releases of this module.

Thanks for that - well I have tried in both IE8 and Firefox 3.6 and the problem occurs in both cases. I am able to upload a file successfully - and when I browse via windows explorer on my pc, the file is there and works, but I still cannot then view this new file via the module. It is listed, but when downloaded, has a file size of 0 bytes...

Thanks! The A/C also provides the heating which has been necessary recently. Not much cooling needed - in the summer I should easily manage by opening the roof light. I'm trying to make the suite use as little power as possible. I am using LED monitors which also cut the electricity consumption. In terms of flash video, I had a few kids watching iplayer the other day during a lunchtime club and it just worked - in full screen. No problem at all.

I've got a room full of Acer Revo 3610s. These are the dual core Revos with 4gb of RAM. They are all running Windows 7 Pro, and for the applications we are running, speed is simply not an issue. These machines are mainly used for office 2007 and web browsing, although we also do some basic video editing on them and run plenty of primary multimedia applications. It is remarkable to be in the room when all 40 are turned on as it is almost silent. I've got a problem with the moodle smb web client module. I get a list of all of the documents in the relevant folder, but when I download any file via the moodle block, the file size is always 0 bytes, and as such I cannot read or open any of my files. I am running Moodle 1.9.7. Has anyone got this module working on 1.9.7? Anyone having similar issues? Cheers

Interesting... We use Live@edu - Microsoft hosted email - and have noticed that a lot of our email has bounced as a result of MS servers being blacklisted by Spamcop today. Has anyone else had this?

I'm running office 2007, GIMP, Google Earth, Movie Maker Live, and a load of multimedia applicaitons. Not CS3, although I think it would probably cope ok. The model that we have which has a 500gb hdd and 4gb ram, together with the 330 atom processor came out at about £250 excluding. I have got a room with 41 machines in, and the level of noise and heat is remarkable, in that it is pretty much non existent. We are using them with Benq LED monitors and saving the school a ton in bills.

Hi, I've got a room full of these - acer 3601 - with 4gb ram. They are quick, quiet and neat. I'm really pleased with them. They are fine running all of the applications that we have in school. I've got them fixed to our monitors using the vesa mountings. I would certainly recommend them.

We use iTalc. It's open source and actually very good, quick and pretty easy to set up.

As an alternative to this, you can create the registry key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WallPaper] This is missing by default, but creating it enables your policy to work. Found from this source.

I tried dropping the image over to the Windows 7 machine, but it appears to be missing some dlls.

Hi all, Trying to deploy windows 7 pro via fog, but can't get machines to join the domain. Think it is a problem with netdom. I know Windows 7 doesn't come with netdom, so I am trying to install it somehow. Has anybody else encountered this problem and managed to get netdom to install? Have you got Windows 7 machines joining a domain via fog at all? Cheers Pete

I'm using a piece of software called Scribus to create the new school prospectus. You could create a nice looking magazine using that. It's open source which is a plus point, but as seems to be the case with many other DTP applications, there is a lot to learn if you want to make totally professional looking publications.

I'm holding out for the dual core version of the Revo to be released. Word is that it should be available before the end of October, probably to coincide with Windows 7. That extra processing power will make all the difference for what we need it to do. New dual core version of asus eee box coming out too, probably at the same time.

I'm aware of an issue on server 2008 whereby if the script has quotation marks in it, it won't run, even if the script works perfectly when run manually.
