If the devices are old, or have an older WiFi card, then they may need a lower bitrate to connect to.

Have you tried changing the bitrate of the SSID (Last setting when editing an SSID)?

Interesting. I had a similar issue earlier in the week, and I needed to add a new URLs to our Office 365 whitelist category on Smoothwall to get it working again: browser.pipe.aria.microsoft.com business.bing.com I suspect the former rather than the latter solved the issue, but putting both JIC.

Worth checking the size of the network profile, if it has one. Also, it may be trying to install/update a bunch of Windows Apps when you login if they haven't been disabled or removed beforehand.

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection contains MGS2, MGS3 and Peace Walker. All are worth a play, but MGS3 is generally considered the best in series. It also has versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 if you like it very old skool! MGS4 is a little cut scene heavy, but absolutely worth a play, especially if you enjoyed MGS.

Not 100% sure, but I think Windows will allow you to write to the shared desktop unless that is specifically blocked. Certainly I would try blocking write access to that folder as well.

Not seeing that setting, but have found an extension Save to Google Drive is that what you've used?

Just ran into this problem today connecting my new Pixel 4a to our 802.1x WiFi network. So far it's only Google's pixel devices that require the domain field to be entered, but it's due to be released on all Android devices going forward. Anyone got a good guide to setup Lets Encrypt on NPS servers? Or a similar (free!) solution that isn't going to be difficult for end users (and Network Managers for that matter!) to implement?

True, but there are things that will stay the same, or will need a budget (MIS, ISP, Firewall, Filtering etc) and there may be projects that you know will need a budget for in the next 5 years (hardware refreshes, WiFi, Classroom AV, Anti-Virus etc). Yes, things will change as new technology appears and old ones retire, but having a baseline prediction for the next 5 years can be helpful.

I hope they incorporate the Windows 10X work in there somewhere, like having a choice to login into full fat Windows or Windows 'lite' mode at login or something similar. Would it also be reasonable to ask that all features of Windows 11 can be managed by GPO from the off?

Looking at something similar, but looking to justify the large capital spend. For those that have upgraded, to either Aruba or Meraki, have you noticed an improvement to the speed/reliability of your network? Other than the age of the kit (going on for 14 years now!) I haven't had any major issues, and I'm struggling to justify the upgrade to the higher ups. Security concerns would be number one, and moving to more 1GBs ports across the board would be great, as would the increased visibility/manageability, but has the actual networking ability of switches really moved on the past 5-10 years? It's slightly easier to justify a wireless upgrade as we jumped from WiFi 4 (802.11n) to WiFi 6 and that's easier to explain!

Is there any good guidance (website/videos/training) for this? It just seems like another element of an IT Manager's job that you should just know without any kind of training or instruction...
