you got it right in the sense that I meant PC... to start with. I developed the website for the school in 'chunks' divided by departments, and each head of department or association with the school have got Contribute 3 on their machines. Now, I would like to upgrade to CS4, the DW and FL are for the IT rooms, but the Contribt is for admin PCs only. I will hide shortcuts accordingly, but I also want to streamline the installation if possible, having the Contirbute msi on its own would be great. Thanks!

When deploying the msi package for Web Premium CS4 all of the features are installed by default. I would like to extract from the package (let's say Contribute CS4) and installed on its own, on a separate msi package, is that possible? Have try to run setup.exe /? /a /n but no joy. I need to have a package for Contribute CS4 only, because the web premium CS4 is too big and the pc that needs Contribute does not have much HDD space. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What about your filter policy to block unsuitable sites? Has it been modified perhaps to block https??? Let's say if you add to the black list a site starting with https://, the behaviour may be to start blocking all sites starting with https://. It will not block them completly, but you'll get a simlar problem to the one you are having. At least this is how our filter works!! funny sometimes

ey OXP! All the luck in the world for you my friend, this is tedious stuff. Did you allow exclusive access to C:\StaffProfile to your users when configuring the GPO in the server? They should have exclusive access to their local profile...I think. And i said I think because I had a similar problem ages ago with the staff laptops and implemented a similar solution to yours, and in the long run it didn't work. Staff could not wait for sync of their files on the servers, and at the end they end up having the same situation, files not being backup on the laptops and files here and there. Believe or not, my salvation was a Terminal Server, I enable RDP over the internet and advise staff to access their work from home using RDP. At first we deny access to their local C:\ but with the time I've been a bit more relax and they can now have files on their laptops itself. But they all are full aware that we are not responsible for this data, they should we using RDP all the times on their laptops at home. I hope some of the members of this forum will give you a better advise.

what? subnet mask /32 is reserved for broadcasting, you can't really have hosts in that. Have you try to create a scope and reseve IPs for the clients you need? You could do that but surely not give /32 subnet. this may help: Online IP Subnet Calculator

I'm really disappointed and increasingly worried for what I'm reading here, and I wish I knew about this forums before. We've been running RM 3.2 for a few years and this summer time we are getting the upgrade for CC4 (nearly June and still they haven't provide with installations dates!!). I knew that CC4 had problems when it was first released, and I thought it would now mature and in a good state to migrate to, but that's not the case, is it? You guys that migrated from CC3 to CC4, any advice in increasing performance? Thank you very much in advance.

We recently have an IT Suite loaded with Viglen, and though they are not as 'robust' as the latest RM All in One, they do the job. The price is really a tentation and the specs are by far better than other suppliers. A hard drive failed within a week on a Viglen station and the studetns tend to move the computers by pushing the monitor, which moves very badly on the Vesta mounting unit: got the feeling it will not last as long as RM all in one, but let's see how well they do when we get the CC4 over the summer.

Hi there people, Just wondering what advise would you give about all-in-one workstations, were do your normally buy them to be RM CC3 compatible?? I got a bundle of Vingles PC's last time for a room, and though they are cheaper than RM they dont' seem to be as robust. What all-in-one workstation models do you run on your it rooms? Thanks
