if you are using windows 7 you could use the netsh wlan add profile command netsh wlan add profile filename=LocationOfFile\WIRELESS.xml you would need to first export the profile using "netsh wlan export profile" command to get the XML of course you could run this from a GPO script

have you tried disabling IPv6 on the client, this was causing me some problems with not allowing reconnection to an offline drive despite the lan being connected, and disabling IPv6 looks like it might have fixed this for me.

Its a Win7x64 with Office 2010 i'm not sure if any one has seen this before? at first i thought it was office but im not sure if its either Office Offline Files or Possibly DFSR. Has anyone seen this before???

Blackberry Enterprise Express server is now free its a bit of a pain to setup but gives you full exchange integration asuming that you are using exchange of course.

we have done something similar, i used a linux box two lan cards one on our lan one on the open vlan with Apache to host the wpad.dat DHCP to give out addresses and Squid to act as a proxy all requests were forwaded to proxy.swgfl.org.uk. you could get the squid box to act as a transparent proxy though i never got this to work. by having the wpad file if detect settings automatically is ticked it works. in Squid you can set up the ACLs to require authentication against an AD group.

I would ask for a block of 16 this gives you 14/3 usable adresses, i did manage to justify this at home for personal use! but if you get a block of 8 remember thats only 6 usable but one of the useables will be your router. so 5 others... if you have more than 5 ssl servers that requier outside access that would probably be enough to justify it...

Internet providers - Going it alone
k-strider replied to LukeC's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I too am looking at changing, living close to a POP i thought the price would be better with BT or Virgin, still waiting for Virgin to come in but BT comes in at 13,540 (5yrs PA) or 14,070 (3yrs PA) for 30M on a 100meg barer. then we would need some filtering so having got a quote from smoothwall this pushes the cost substantially higher than our SWGFL proposed costs for next year. unless i can get a 20 or 30 Meg line from virgin at something like 5-6K i don't think its worth moving away at the moment unfortunately. i would be worried about using something like SDSL or ADSL as the speed is so low, and i think it would be noticeable if we have 3-400 odd students online at the same time, which is possible here. -
is the following policies set? For Computers Comp Conf -> Admin Templates -> Printers -> Point and Print restrictions = Disabled and for Users User Config -> Admin Templates -> Control Pannel/Printers -> Point and Print restrictions = Disabled

if you have a select/schools agreement agreement DPM might be worth a look

if you are using 0.29 you don't need to you just need an A record called fogserver that points to your fog servers address as the client looks for this if its not set. Alternativley you will have to package up and deply a modified config.ini file and ammend the line that specifys the fog server. its in programfiles of programfiles x86 then FOG then ETC. i use advanced installer to make mini MSIs

I didn't realise you had to change the username to domain\user SourceForge.net: FOG - A Free Cloning Solution: Topic: No more netdom.exe! Testers needed for Win 7 explains also how to get rid of the \ turning into \\ just giving it ago again now lol

Sysprep a Windows 7 Machine Also a couple of gotyas set the Rearm to 0 not 1 or you will get the same CMID if you are using a KMS server. Input Locale is en-GB Time Zone is GMT Standard Time

Hi there, not being a linux expert i wondered if its possible to get clonezilla that i have on my PXE menu to pass it some default settings so basically i don't have to choose disk-image or ssh and the address or pass the username and password or accepte the SSH cert. it would be nice if after booting it goes straigt to saving disk / restoring disk menu is this possible? Thanks Gordon.

do you have a wpad file on a webserver and you have detect settings automatically which takes presidance over the proxy settings
