that dosent even sound a fun way to play sotr i enjoyed it but without checkpoints nope you mean the prison guards in the optional fight. i think that was the hardest fight in the game and is pretty time limited but i did manage it as persona 5 is one of my 2 platinums (the other is nier automata). i like the idea of trophies / achievements but some of them just seem like a way to make me hate the game. Take horizon zedro dawn theres a trophy for getting top medals on bow/caster etc some i could do but most it would make me repeat the same thing so often i would hate the game esp when you fail by 0.5 seconds or some other daqft time world of final fantasy i found ok but that damn floaty white fox eventually drove me round the twist saying kuppo all the time and the odd speech patterns eventually i just stopped playing it. I dont think square should be allowed to have talking characters in games they just seem to make me hate their games (ff15 was the same the boyband that wouldnt cram a sock in it)

i can speculate at the why. you log off as staffuser but because onedrive is running it cant completely close all thew files so the profile cant be removed. so user logs on again there is 1/2 a profile it creates a new one repeat to fade

the school i know of that ditched sims entirely use sage ive head other use ps financials but i hear very little good about it (though sage is a bit dumb it a per user install and dosent like pac files as your proxy)

i think ALL cloud solutions assume 1:1 devices and anything else is an ignorable oddity

if i had to guess id bet onedrive and mandatory profiles arnt compatible as even if you use the all user version the default sync location is still c:\users\name\onedrive iirc (its definitely in c: users\name) i dont think mandatory profiles are even supported any more are they? as for just deleting old profiles have a look at delprof but it might be worth running it at startup rather than shutdown (or both) as if files are still open it cant close them and id imagine with onedrive it might even sync if a user has logged out

they are slow machines the cpu is carp, they dont have much memory and even with an ssd they are better but not great. you can try chromium boot it from a usb pen once booted its fine but i found even locally installed booting took a long time at some point devices just become more of a liability to use than they are worth and netbooks are in that category imo

sounds like a good case as others have said for just Microsoft 365 (not office 365 as iirc that dosent come with intune or windows lics and you may want pro/ent rather than home on laptops) it sounds pretty similar to a test setup i created. tbh id get some crummy old laptops to test with and set up a trial Microsoft 365 account and have a play. i see no reason in that scenario for rdp just an unneeded complication imo (just be aware costs for a business are quite a bit higher than in edu

depends how simple you want it you could literally write a batch file that when someone logs on/off records the time to a csv file either on a per pc or per user basis

do pupils have gpo settings so that they can access the all user start menu and staff dont? or other permissions issues maybe allow c drive access for a test user

id be surprised if it did its more likely to set the activity light to show if a device is drawing power

if you have a pc you can easily change the time on you could cheat on that pc open up a command prompt and type net time \\server /set bit of a backwards solution if the pc you are on is correct but should work 9or at least fix the time problem. i think though id be borrowing a screen and keyboard and logging on to the server that way if at all possible
