WSUS and local updates (No internal storage)
sted replied to Warwick_Tech's topic in Windows Server 2019
at this point you might want to look into windows update for business because as youve said wsus is basically terrible and that can use pcs as a data store (so if pc01 has update 123456 pc2 can get it from there) -
existing profiles? if they have roaming profiles or logged on before the apps were removed then they will stay on their profile
-
you can already create a windows s mode install media thats probably not a million miles from whatever lite ends up being
-
as i understand it the eol is just when they guarantee up to as long as the updates continue to work on that particular architecture you will probably get updates ( i also assume google have i fo on just how many of machine x actually get used which id imagine has some effect on it). From what i was reading a few days ago theres some chromebooks that are because of the chipset harder to support that will get dropped as soon as they can but others are still getting support well past their eol

those netbooks (or at least similar ones) were not far off unusable on chrome os as well they took forever to boot (they were ok then) but without an ssd they were not a good experience

theres a keyboard command for bringing up cmd in a wds boot. its something like shift ctrl f8 (its some combination like that) try that and running ip config my next guess is that you dont have network drivers for that pcs nic in your boot image
-
stupid as it sounds try another pc. ive had that in the past and ive had to diskpart the affected pc to get it to boot into mdt

is it worth downloading it on 1 pc through steam and just copying the install files to another pc and seeing if it runs? (granted if its got drm this wont work but i dont believe things have to have drm to be on steam)
-
you can but to some degree thats not the point of an s mode device
-
i dont think you can domain join surface gos (at least out of the box) as they run in s mode (so the modern equivalent of rt it runs apps not exes) and only azure domain joins. you can take them out of s mode i believe though
-
thats all very well but im going to guess you dont get on googles "naughty list" for nothing twice
-
ive found pictures work better than words so like above the pc with a thermometer in its mouth seems to work better than a do not use sign as people assume it dosent apply to them
-
yup few people have mentioned it to me this morning as well

depends on use case. my last 3 windows laptops have been 17" but the only one i use now is my 10/11 (i cant remember which) pixelbook and for most of the time its fine (though it does have a strange aspect ratio) a lot of schools seem to be going the chromebook route and most of those are sub 12"

i just dont want to play it and iirc to get the plat you had to be very careful about advancing and getting rare drops. i wanted to complete it but it was so bad when i played it i just cant face going back

im still worried about ff7 remake for 2 reasons 1 i dont want to watch Aeris die in hd 2 squares last attempts at real time battle systems ff13.3 and ff15 are awful games i diddnt manage to play either for more than 2 hours the combat was that bad on the other hand as soon as i get a eshop card im getting the mana collection i just hope they have bug tested it better than the secret of mana ps4 game ive never played a console game that crashes so frequently (on average once an hour)
