Sounds like it to me mate - bad times :-(
-
I think post count's a fair indication of that mate... ;-)

WHoop! nicely done :-)

I imagine its doing the inital config still. Is it listed in AD sites and services?
-
not neccesarily - check with your ISP, but it could just as easily be their end.
-
I imagine the mail server or client at the recipients end is blocking encrypted attachments - can they check the mail logs?

Hmm, no idea how it could have happened. Safest way of making sure everything comes back happy would be a demoting the dc then repromoting it I imagine. there probably is a hacky way round it, but that way you'll know everything is back in as it should be.
-
not sure if its just a typo but there appears to be a rogue space in 'policies' here: Is that showing on both DCs, maybe ones correct and one isn't? Just a thought. Also is replication running properly between the two dcs? maybe worth forcing a replicate

But will they be making holes in things with LAZORZ?

If there's any 16bit processing in the 32bit app (dlls etc) then he'll have issues. Also 64bit XP is the work of the devil - its basically server 2003 with an xp-like layer on top. Getting drivers can be tricky, so before a reinstall check you can get replacement drivers for all the hardware

Might be worth asking them? Sorry I've no idea how they deal with management. Might be worth giving them a sneaky reboot as a first port of call?

So far for me its been scrabbling kit together for training I hadn't been informed was happening, while explaining laptops are a finite resource. While trying to FOG working in Latvia, and also trying to work out where the rest of my team is....

Do you get the same behaviour to clients on different switches? maybe its a switch issue any logging/management available on it?
