i came across this page as part of my original search but when i went to download it looked like it had downloaded and then jsut crashed out i think it may be a corrupt zip or something.

thats what i want to do plexer, friez the exe is online so ntfs won't work in this situation.

theres two good suggestions there geoff i quite like the idea of implementing both (cos i'm greedy) basically run with your method of identical scopes and also a back up one. Did you implement your own idea? any feedback?

Hi all i want to add an additional dhcp server The situation is that the server previously had dhcp on it but had to be rebuilt and i never got around to putting dhcp back onto it. The server that is currently doing all the work has an ip of 10.37.241.1 with a scope of 10.37.243.1 to 10.37.255.254. If i install dhcp do i configure on the same scope or a seperate one?

edited* the problem i have with this is that the exe i'm trying to protect is a already packaged file so if i add it to an archive it unzips it all and i just want it to run the exe inside.

don't have winzip mate and its for the ultravnc zip file so not sure it will work, basically i want to be have users enter a password when they click on the exe, i have seen programs but they all cost money..

anyone know how i can do this for free cheers in advance as always.

vmware converter takes care of this (its discussed elsewher in the forum) and given the date on this last thread i assume you now know this?

just used VM ware converter to create a vm machine out of my physical machine (lappy) it took just over an hour but i now have a very good backup and it works very well, (so much so thatwhen i booted vmware and started the image it told me i hada duplicate machine name on my network , brilliant.)

is there a way that i can make the podcast larger on screen?i'm having a look at some back episodes and want to be able to skip .forward/backwards and make the picture larger (i have limited bandwith so can't download to watch so am viewing online.

i think its 1030 but it will work in your environment (assuming you have net access that is)try the free version first.

Ultravnc is also very good for this but it means you have to set up your own machine as a host server and then build a exe that someone can download. i run it to give remote support options to my private business customers.

Thanks all had never managed to find it gpo before as its listed under networks, have made the neccassary changes and now just need to wait for the gpudate to take effect *tried with secops update but as the firewall is switched on it doesn't work.

is there any tool i can get that will do en-masse ? i came across one recently but can't find it now and it only worked on a few machines

Hi all i'm having continual problems connecting to machines remotely on our network etc because of the xp firewall, do otyhers have the same issues? do you turn it off internally? any thoughts or advice please? as always thanks in advance.

ah of course cos its xp you can't add users.it has to be a server
