or point the hardware wizard at the correct directory "C:\hp\drivers\lan\lan_Via_Rhine"
-
I've just downloaded the spring 2005 collection from here Select software and drivers Compaq Presario SR1369ES Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) it is in the Rhine sub directory "C:\hp\drivers\lan\lan_Via_Rhine" if you inspect the inf file in that directory you will find [MANUF] %VT3106S.DeviceDesc% = VT3106S.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3053&SUBSYS_01061106 %VT3106J.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_01051106 %VT3065.DeviceDesc% = VT3065.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065&SUBSYS_01051106 %VT3065.DeviceDesc% = VT3065.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065&SUBSYS_01021106 %VT3043.DeviceDesc% = VT3043.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3043&SUBSYS_01001106 %VT3106S.DeviceDesc% = VT3106S.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3053 %VT3106J.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106 %VT3065.DeviceDesc% = VT3065.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065 %VT3043.DeviceDesc% = VT3043.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3043 so it does support your device, may be you need to point the hardware wizard at the lan_via_rhine sub directory not just the drivers\hp directory. Hope you get it working.

I don't know if SEGFL is atomwide managed aswell, but their software refuses to work with the atomwide proxy and my own internal isa, so I static assigned ip, and allowed that IP straight through via the atomwide site.

cheers for the lanschool that was more what we needed, tbh the internet stuff is just icing. the isa one works fine, but they do have to go to a web page and login, do you really think an it teacher is capable of that?
-
not her. the boss woman

Hi, I have installed netsupport school trial for the ICT teacher(s) to try out, any other alternatives suggested? She wants to be able to CCTV the kids screens. Block Internet Access. Restrict internet access to certain website. I don't want the IT teachers access to stuff that lets them install software or any thing like that.

no but i've had it were it was forcing US rather than UK english and it turned out to be because the text was copied/pasted from a webpage.

as as books go C++ The Complete Reference by herb schildt won't help you with the networking or windows specifics but its a great reference book for C++

isa will do nat, to convert 192.168.0.1 to 172.xxx.xxx.xxx then atomwide will do nat to convert 172.xxx.xxx.xxx to 91.87.xxx.xxx
-
it really is late, my first reply is what the isa server does. i want to leave it doing that. then use a bridging firewall so i can keep the west sussex ip ranges assigned to the machines and not do double nat. i hope that makes sense,
-
i've been packaging applications for hours, i forgot the context of the post!
-
because then i'll be doing double nat, which i hate,
-
really inspires confidence in their firewall!

login as administrator and run computer management, and check the membership of the "Local Administrators" group. If not then, you have GPO's giving them permission. Why not right click on program files and check the security tab to see the actual permissions that way you'll be able to work how they are getting the permission. pretty basic stuff.

Our school was built in 2003, opened september 2004 and we pay rent to the company that built the building for the next 25 years. We had a managed it service for the first 4 years and it was rubbish, then they were removed and shortly after I came in, do we have to worry about BSF???
-
PSU's are unbelievable removed 5 yesterday that turned themselves off after being on for less than a minute. Case's with holes in the top, the DIMM sockets seem to attract dust, and their bully boy tactics of trying to get their network management software installed in the school. Stay Away!

update 1 is the fix, as you'll see when you select the operating system type it now says Windows 2008 R2 without experimental in brackets. it does fix the "problem" but the console is still quite painfull to use, but kind of always has been with esx. my 2003 vm's are always connected to with VNC, and the 2008 ones remote desktop. with a sysprep'd ghost image / vm template you should only really need the console to setup the template.
-
Read the rest of the thread!! Install VMware tools and enable remote desktop / open firewall for remote desktop. and then use remote desktop to connect to the VM. its the VM console that slow not the actual vm itself.
-
All i did was shut down the VM's, pulled the fibre lead out, put the CD in and said install. Was really painless.
-
in serif's favour they do concurrent licensing, and the price is not bad either
-
why is it, that people will pay thousands of pounds for shiny new computers and cameras but refuse to pay for software???

Hi Guys, Sorry but i have searched tinternet for this and it seems like a retarded question, but how do i know which tape DPM wants tonight. it was alright to start because it obviously wanted blanks, and it is quite happy to tell me after the event I have used the wrong tape, but how do i find out before? I can't believe I'm even asking.
-
Hi, the little darlings have started the "pull the network lead out after the split second after logging in" trick, to bypass the GPO's. I thought i had set a GPO setting that stopped this from working? any ideas
