does it work via wireless? or does it upload ? were using parent mail, i could have coded something inhouse, but i haven't really got the time and i kinda like the external company on somethings. i'd def prefer android to apple ! but that just me. apple is soooo overpriced for what it is.

vpnc is sweet so much quicker than the windows vpn client. sudo vpnc sudo vpnc-disconnect i'll look at the kvm tommorow. might put ubuntu on my desktop at work see how this goes. can't get on the school website or remote.school.sch.uk when the vpn is active? i think it does dns lookups via the vpn connection while you are on it? might want to be careful with that not neccesarily information atomwide needs! did you seem them at bett

haven't looked at kvm, did apt-get install kvm. and then kvm and it seems to boot a vm ? but yeh the idea was to run a few windows vm's in kvm for that sort of thing. but I'm okay for day to day inside ubuntu now which is all good. yeh dial in for windows work stuff. my windows music stuff won't work though it needs direct hardware access and drivers which will never linuxed . the linux terminal services client is a bit annoying though. ctrl + alt + enter doesn't always work, so sometimes you have to logout of the remote desktop to read something on the internet .... evolution doesn't seem to want to connect to outlook web access but tbh the browsers probably easier anyway. are you using chrome on linux.? I find the chromium crossover ???? crashes all the time but the proper chromium works nicely and is quicker than firefox. but you have to use firefox if you want the full outlook web access for exchange 2010.

vpnc into the wsgfl was the easiest and then remote desktop straight to ip of the server. I'm killing the remote desktop gateway service soon anyway and getting xendesktop hopefully, be interesting to see how that plays under *nix ubunutu quite useful on my laptop as all i do is work stuff, word docs, web browsing, remote desktop to school. but theres no way I'm putting it on my desktop. No support for any of my six sound cards and pro-tools doesn't run so thats a no no,

Hi, I'm going Nix on the laptop, going for ubuntu to start with. the last time I looked at remote desktop for linux it didn't support remote desktop gateway. does anyone know if this is still the case or a way to connect to a remote desktop via remote desktop gateway? if not I can use the cisco VPN client, but I'd rather not. and the normal staff use the remote desktop gateway so i need to be able to verify when the report problems whether its the server or them. if not no worries. windows vm I suppose...

sounds about right,! its easy to miss the simple things sometimes, especially with thousands of screaming kids and teacher which aren't much better! glad its sorted

no problem,

try this one, I pulled it of our SCCM/MDT/WDS driver collection, it should support that device ID and works okay for us. YMMV http://www.oriel.w-sussex.sch.uk/temp/intel.zip

your running 32bit windows 2003 ? can you tell me the pnp device ID?
-
can you force the switch?

primary with 10 teachers isn't going to get far me thinks.
-
i don't think we would have to include them as they work for a different company, with a different network with their own computers.
-
they didn't but, I would take an educated (sic) guess that it is FTE all staff. especially if your not counting learning/teaching assistants.

new line learning website is not uptodate so its difficult to tell, make sense tho

we're not, but all you could see round kensington today was people with frog goodie bags!

large orders I shop around, little items by default tend to go to insight or another supplier we use. even large orders tend to go to insight as they do generally come up with the best price. insight are really good to us, really easy to order, click order on the website and its done. free next day delivery on everything. they are also really helpfull if you are buying something like a HP server or something, and will find out the correct memory/ extra cpu / nics/etc to buy to spec it how you want, its not like we're not capable of doing that ourselves but it does save you some time, they actually did this for us and then someone else actually came through with a better price on that particular order, they couldn't beat it but where quite happy to spec it and then someone else supply us, probably based on the amount of business we generally put through them, and the eductional pricing on the website is quite good and useful you can see it with out having to actually ring them, but they still will come down further a bit if you are buying weight,

went today, exactly what they said on the blog. you license by full time equivalent staff, licenses will be a bit more that a machine license but you will need less obviously so significant saving. you can license 1 item (say something like visio or VS or project) instead of having to license for the whole school. we don't know pricing yet. will launch in march, talk to your reseller? i did sit through ten minutes of a rather "interesting" presentation, on some schools somewhere in the uk, where they have "plaza's" with 90 kids in a class and 3 teachers, and video walls and projectors and blah blah. looked a load of cods wollup to me!

sentence aside (i'm undecided) I do think he deserved to be punished. And it was a very stupid thing to do, and people could have been seriously injured. if someone walks up to a crowded train station or shopping area with a bomb, if the bomb doesn't go off is that less of a crime than it actually going off?
