The problem with the cuts to the public sector is that all these private sector firms brought in with "leaner and fitter" attitudes are now going out of business because councils have cut back on the money they pay them to do work once done by councils. I've just tried to restore a course and notice that individual course back ups, i.e. in the backupdata folder for each course, all stopped on 17th January 2011. We have Moodle 1.9 on 2008 Windows server running IIS7, and the cron job appears to be running correctly. The admin settings for course backups are set to Active. I can't figure out why this should be happening. Any suggestions?

We have a couple of laptops with the Nvidia 8200M G graphics card which are giving problems when teachers try to use the projector attached to them. I've had dual display working, but after a reboot it appears to reset itself, for want of a better phrase. I see from googling this that there seems to be a problem with these cards and dual displays, but I haven't found a solution that works for me. Has anyone here solved this?

We have a course in the ICT section of our Moodle shared between three teachers and several groups of pupils. A teacher has deleted 80 graded assignments and you can imagine how they feel. I run a database backup overnight, but restoring this would cause as many problems as it cures. Is there any way to restore these 80 assignments, with all the marking? Is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future?

Just uninstalled SP1 (x64 bit) from my machine and keyboard & mouse are working again.

During the third week of the summer break a cleaner mentioned that a projector was switched on in a classroom. I did a simple calculation for the teacher involved, 6 weeks x 7 x 24 = 1008 hours, and the life of this particular bulb is around 2000 hours (I didn't add in the cost of the energy used) the first week back after the holidays in September. Second day back the head gets a call that we're going to have an Ofsted inspection the following week, and two days before the inspection this particular teacher's projector bulb starts to fail spectacularly. Fortunately we carry spares for these projectors. She still leaves her projector on all day.

@sted I tried all these things last night, but still no joy. I'm on decorating leave today so may have more time to play with this problem. It appears that Win7 won't run the install from the cdrom saying it's incompatible with the operating system. It wasn't incompatible when I installed the kit on the same machine with the same OS last June/July. I did find an update online last night and ran it, but still no joy from the keyboard, though the mouse is working after a fashion, if I turn it upside down it magnifies the screen 200%, and it's not as responsive as it was. My initial thoughts are that the keyboard has coincidentally failed in some way. What are the chances of that? Just read my Op and it should read, "Last night I installed some Windows 7 (Ultimate) updates at home..."

Last night I installed some Windows 7 (Ultimate) at home which disabled my Microsoft Wireless Laser 5000 keyboard and mouse. Using an old hand cranked set I've searched for an answer which basically boils down to the software being blocked to a compatibility issue. I've been using this keyboard/mouse set up on this machine quite happily for a year. When I click on the "Check for solutions online" button I get the message that "Windows will notify me when solutions become available" I've rolled back the updates but without any luck. This may be a long shot, but has anyone else come across this problem?

It wasn't my intention to make light of your problems. Maybe if you brought this thread to the attention of SLT, or whoever is responsible for asking you to implement this project, they may change their mind? There have been several instances in my own school where I've managed to buttress an argument one way or another by spending a little time searching the Edugeek forums.

As someone who has suffered with a prolapsed disc for a number of years I thought there must a be a better way of relieving pain than having my back manipulated twice a year. I took up modified Pilates classes twice a week, and though I haven't lost much weight, I've certainly lost a couple of inches round the waist and I haven't been for physio in two and a half years.

I was looking to use it for more than simply screen recording. I want to see how good it is at creating media rich experiences (sorry for the flimflam, I can't think of a better phrase), with some interaction, and SCORM compatible.

I think the title says it all really. I got hold of a trial copy of Camatsia 7.1 recently and I've found it easy to use, but possibly a little limited in what it can produce.
