Yeah it is. It pre-dates me the reason it is still being used. Presumably the cost involved to upgrade the licence. I've just manually installed CS2 onto my Windows 10 test machine using the bat file assigned in SCCM.

Well that's bizarre. As the deployment file it uses, installs the software fine when ran manually at any stage. If I go to distribute content, the option to set a distribution point isn't there so presumably SCCM is already aware of the distribution file to use so I've redistributed and validated the distribution point it uses in the application properties.

Well that could explain a lot if that is the case. Is that "not continue on error" a setting on the task sequence step? I've noticed "If an application installation fails, continue installing other applications in the list" is unticked. Be good to know why it fails though. Sorry to bump this thread of mine but this is still an on-going issue that I can't seem to get to the bottom of. Task sequences seem to fail on both our Windows 7 and Windows 10 images and I don't know why. The most recent re-image I did was on the 15th but with our Windows 10 image. I've edited an existing Windows 10 task sequence and this is what I'm trying to achieve after SCCM has initially installed the OS: Out of all the software install steps enabled, none have installed. If I do a manual deploy to the machine afterwards, all the missing software deploys fine so I know it's not a problem with the task sequence themselves. Why does the software install fine outside of the task sequence process but not during? I've tried with both applications and packages. I've checked the smsts.log in C:\Windows\CCM\Logs but can't find anything obvious. If I try and search the log file for all the missing software, 0 results are returned. Thanks Jason. This seems to work for me (didn't need the firewall rules). However despite installing Arduino manually on a few machines and then checking the certificate store, some computers only have the Adafruit certificate and some have Adafruit and Arduino_LLC. None seem to have Arduino_srl. Does this matter? The install seems to work without it but I haven't got an Arduino device handy to try it to see if it prompts for any missing driver. I've even manually ran the .exe that installs the drivers in the installation folder and I can see Arduino_srl mentioned but it then never appears in the store. Also when you export to a .cer file, there's two encryption options. Does it matter which one is used?

I'm in same situation. I've no idea if Veyon can do this or not. This is the 'best' English setup and configuration video I've found but they limit Veyon to connect to one room only on the tutorial.

Seems the best place to ask this. I'm trialling Veyon here and from what I know I have everything setup correctly (wasn't sure if public and private keys were necessary so left them at default). I've set up a couple of rules based on certain scenarios. For example I've set a "All Computers" one linked to the domain admins security group and another with the name of one of our IT Suites which is linked to security group named after the room and I've put a test member of staff in there. My issue is that when I login to Veyon Master as this test user, they are able to access the entire domain computer AD structure and not just the IT Suite defined in the access control rule. Any ideas? I know on the likes of AB Tutor you could define which user could see what computers and I'm wanting to replicate that in Veyon. Am I missing something obvious? I thought the "Accessing computer is located in same room as local computer" would be the setting that forced the user(s) in the security group to only be able to see and connect to computers in the same room.

I saw that post but wasn't sure if it would be a fix in my scenario as computers here don't have a C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\ folder to copy the preferences file into. Does it just need created? I saw you mention a 'first run' file in post #4. What content does the file have or it is just blank? Edit: Found the first run file you mentioned in C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data but again these Chrome files aren't created until after Chrome is first launched.

Has anyone managed to get this sorted for local user profiles? We don't use roaming or mandatory. I can get a modified master_preferences copied to the Chrome application folder on the local machine but when a user logs on Chrome creates the following directory C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\ and in there is a Preferences file which isn't keeping the settings from the master_preferences file. When they open Chrome they are getting their homepage tab and a 'Welcome to Chrome tab'. The Chrome documentation states: I've disabled the 'Enable showing the welcome page on the first browser launch following OS upgrade' disabled at both Computer and User level. Can't see any other policies that would be linked to welcome tab. I'm testing this by deleting the profile on our test PC. Once I know I can get rid of the welcome tab, I'll then need a way of sorting it for users who already have a profile on the local machine.

Has anyone successfully managed to deploy this via SCCM? The documentation says to use --Silent switch but I'm wondering if /silent would work too (got a test deployment using/switch and just waiting to see if it's successful or not). For me this was just an issue for Team Drives. We've got less than 10 people trialling this here so we've giving them full access to the Team Drive as a temporary fix.

We're currently trialling this with selected users and they seem to require Modify access to somewhere on the C drive when trying to save into Team Drives (their own drive works fine) as they get told they don't have the required privileges to do so (Error 0x80070522). Any ideas? I don't want to give modify access to the whole of the C drive if I can help it. There's an associated folder in C:\users\%username%\appdata\local\google\drivefs but by default it seems users have inherited full control of that anyway.

Anyone had the joy of trying to get this to work correctly recently? Particularly with Smoothwall? I've got it installed in c:\users\public as it just refused to install it anywhere else when deployed over the network. When students log in and run the software they get this pop-up everytime: If they continue anyway the software loads but there's no active internet connection. If they close the software down and open it again the Proxy pop-up doesn't appear and the software works like normal. With regards to Smoothwall I've got a Web Filter policy that allows the WJEC domain for everyone. I've also set up an Authentication Exception for the WJEC category. Speaking to WJEC themselves they suggested editing the config file so it was Smoothwall's IP address rather than the domain name. I've since done this and replaced each config file on the computers the software is installed on but it is still somehow pointing to the domain name of Smoothwall when the pop-up appears. Here's the config file: true XXX.XX.XX.XX 8080 false At this point I'm not sure if problem is still at Smoothwall's end or WJEC's. Leaving the config file blank means the pop-up doesn't appear but the software has no connection at all even after re-opening it. I wondered if it was clever enough to get the proxy settings from the system settings but doesn't seem it is. Any ideas? I'd like to get the software working the first time it is ran rather than having to close the software down and open it back up again.

How have people deployed this to their networks? My boss is wanting to trial this on our network (even though it is still in early access). I've created a batch file in the hope of deploying it across network using SCCM but I get a 0x80040c01 error code when running the bat file. Is there an offline installer?

Think I've managed to get a script working that does what I want. $Users = Import-Csv .\Users.csv Foreach ($user in $users) { $source = '\\fileserver\share$\' + $user.Old $destination = '\\fileserver\share$\' + $user.New robocopy $source $destination /COPYALL /E /R:1 /W:5 /Z } It seems pupil's folders are actually owned by Administrators so have left those permissions alone as I've inherited this network. Could do with it saving to a log file but one thing at a time. Thanks for everyone's help to get me to this stage.

Problem seems to be trying to read and execute data from a .csv file. Thanks for taking the time to post that. I've given it a try and changed the details so it matches our network here but get the following errors which I've summarised: ERROR 2 (0x00000002) Accessing Source Directory The system cannot find the file specified. You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression. At .ps1:11 char:5 Set-Acl : Cannot bind argument to parameter 'AclObject' because it is null. At .ps1:12 char:46 I'm running this from my local machine rather than on the file server. Will that many any difference? I'm right clicking the file and running with powershell which should be running it as admin. I'll see if I can get it working though but at least I've got something to work with.

Ah yeah well spotted. The folder is shared not the users home folder. However even using: robocopy \\fileserver\share$\($user.Old) \\fileserver\share$\($user.New) doesn't do anything. Neither does: robocopy \\fileserver\share$\$user.Old \\fileserver\share$\$user.New I'm probably doing really simple wrong as not used Powershell much.

We're wanting to migrate our pupil AD accounts so their home directory is their new username. Before the summer holidays we gave them their new accounts but their home directories were pointing to their old username as that's where all their work is however we've now got them pointing to their new home directory which is empty. What I want is a powershell script that reads a CSV file I've created with their old and new username in that moves the files in their old directory to their new one based on the data in the spreadsheet. Something like: $Users = Import-Csv .\Filename.csv $robocopy = Foreach ($user in $users) { robocopy \\fileserver\share\$($user.sOld) \\fileserver\share$\$($users.New) /MIR /MOV } For example 16ABC123's documents would be moved to 16SmithA as that will be their new username. Seems simple enough but just can't get it working. Any suggestions? The script runs but doesn't output anything and doesn't move any data.

I was with PN and am now with BT on Infinity 2. PN failed to provide their advertised speeds so as a good will gesture they cancelled my contract free of charge. TalkTalk are awful and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. There's also the less known like Zen and HyperOptic that I've heard good things about but don't think they have as much coverage as the big name providers.

Since my last post on this thread it has installed some software but out of the 9 applications in the list I created, 5 haven't installed. I also have some packages that haven't installed. What I'd also done before leaving work yesterday what simulate a deployment of the failed applications to the test machine and I've came in this morning to find them all sat at 100% compliance. I set each application to find an .exe linked to the install as it wouldn't let me skip that step. For example Audacity is one of the applications I can't get to install and I've set the application to check if the Audacity.exe file exists or not. Unless I've done something wrong that is. I noticed on sparkeh's screenshot they have Scope ID as a column on the list of applications in the task sequence, I don't have that but not sure if that matters or not. Edit: Had a quick look through the smsts.log file but there was a load of stuff in there and wasn't sure what I was looking for. Did a search for Audacity as an example and it couldn't find anything.

Test computer imaged again and no further forward. Maybe I'm just being impatient but it finished imaging an hour ago and there still hasn't been any software deployed to it other than the software built into the image itself. Software Centre shows nothing waiting to be installed either. At a complete loss now. Anywhere I can check to see what's going on?
