Deploying/Using Arduino IDE in school
carlosdss posted a topic in Raspberry Pi, Arduino & Other SBCs
Hi All, We are looking to start using Arduino Uno's in the computer club and I am having trouble getting the IDE running for Students and teachers. It appears that it may need permissions to write to the C: drive, regardless of how we are running it and from where. Works fine for Admins. Has anyone done this and did they have the same issues ? I am running on Windows7 with Arduino Uno's and just downloaded v1.6.6. Thanks for any help.- 18 replies

[sims] Anyone using Call Parents Reggie system?
carlosdss replied to speckytecky's topic in MIS Systems
We had Emerge and Reggie running side by side for a comparison. Emerge came out miles ahead. Reggie seemed very basic and we thought that it would soon become very frustrating for users. We only have a 5licences but it is very easy to use and to manage. If you are concerned with cost then what about running an RDP app to SIMS running an a Terminal Server. -

Can anyone help ? I want to setup a single Email account, for arguments sake lets call it "CatchAll". I then want to assign a number of different Email Aliases to that account. Lets call them Catch-dept1 through to Catch-Dept10. Can I, via my Exchange-2010 server, copy/forward emails dependant on the alias name that the Emails are sent to? For example Catch-Dept1 goes to User1, Catch-Dept2 goes to user2 etc. Can it be done ?. I have not managed to get any transport rule to pick up any email alias names at all, am I doing something wrong. I know I can set them up with individual accounts and I know that I could write some Outlook Rules to handle it. But if this can work it is a better way for me to handle these type of accounts, especially as I would need to monitor them all anyway. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I have a question regarding the use of Twitter in the school environment. Peoples thoughts, do they allow it or not, the reasoning behind it etc. I'm not sure where to post it. Not sure it should be in the educational software forum, should it be internet and filtering ? what about Network and classroom management ? Thanks for any advice you can give me. regards Carlos

Hi All, We are considering upgrading from ActivStudio PE3 to ActivInspire this summer. Are there any gotchas that we should watch out for? Are there any issues with licencing/registration and multiple users per PC? as per standard school usage. Any issues with rollout?, we would probably use our SCCM server for this. What about the learning curve?, how did your users adapt?. Any other advice that may ease the process would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Carlos

Hi All, I'm in the process of replacing a suite of old PC's on a budget and I am looking to reuse the existing 17" monitors. However they are currently attached to a metal cage and we no longer have the original stands. If anyone out there has any monitor stands they no longer require we would be happy to take them off your hands. The monitors have a 75x75 vesa mount. Many thanks Carlos

Have you tried fixing the Server NIC to full duplex 100mbps. The autonegotiation can cause this sort of thing. Also as a previous person stated, turn off spanning tree and IGMP. Good luck
