Advanced is not on ILMS because no provision was made in the tender for a product being bought. This is a weakness in my view of the ILMS framework.

Just for the record 1000s of UK based schools use SIMS with no server based in their school. We can host it and so can LAs and organisations like SCOMIS (Devon's support unit) who offer services outside their boundary. As far as I'm concerned that it cloud based.

This is what I have so far: Rather than trying to retrieve this data from the reporting dictionary, it is possible to run one of the built in Attendance reports such as the Percentage Attendance Report. From this you can choose your own date ranges, and then save the output as raw XML, which can then be opened and modified in Excel to then run your macros on.

I'll get an expert to look at this and come back to you.

You can do all sorts of date related queries on attendance etc in SIMS including looking at prior years. The home page widgets can be tailored to report on house, reg or year and to report on various periods. SIMS can even spot attendance absence patterns with pupils.

It shouldn't be hard. Each school is in a separate DB. If you get support from us I'm sure we could help. Passwords could be an issue.

Involving parents has to be good however if your not good at keeping accurate records you will suffer. Missing registers is the most obvious!

Have you used the utility to set the assessment graphs up yet? Because assessment is so flexible you need to let Discover know which Aspects you are using.

The assumption is as was suggested before that the cheques have been spoiled and therefore new cheque numbers are used. We won't be doing any change requests to printing cheques - BACS is the way forward as it saves so much time and money.

It's designed to auto sync once a day. You can overide and manually sync.

We haven't tested on W8.1 as yet but would not expect this to cause issues. I'm not sure when it will be a part of our test cycle. We would not decline to assist a school that was using W8.1. Unsupported servers are a different matter!!

The reason for absence is the description recorded in the cover diary and it only shows on that person’s timeline, so therefore there are no worries that unauthorised staff can see personal or moral sapping information (Head going for interview etc.)

If you don't have a SupportNet account I would recommend that you open one. SupportNet users tend to have detailed knowledge of assessment/ timetabling issues from a educational perspective

@CaterinaAnna I didn't make it clear enough that these examples are completely user defined using Word as the template design from which you can drop in data.

@Kyle, I think these colours are hard coded on the timeline. Yellow is cover. Diary entries also appear. From autumn, when someone is covering your class it will show who did it and also indicate room changes.

You can get some great graphs out of the assessment suite. I will try to get a sample.

When we host SharePoint and the web parts that make up SLG that is all "in the cloud". It shouldn't put a strain on your servers but your servers will be supplying data to users via our infrastructure.

We can host it for you. You can, if you have a SharePoint infrastructure host it yourself.
