I'm aware that occasionally a patch is issued to fix a particular issue that doesn't make it into the next build because we are too far through the test cycle of the next release. We do not assume that a patch tested on the prior release will work on the next without going through a full test cycle.

@tombry I've spoken to the experts and you are right. It can be done in marksheets but its quite convoluted and a hard coded report will be produced.

It is absolutely possible to record the finer P-scales in SIMS Assessment manager using the exact same gradeset as a P-scales tracker such as PIVATS, Casper or B Squared etc. to show the finer progression measures within a P-Scale. Cricket Green in Merton, an outstanding Special school used Assessment Manager in conjunction with Casper, they recorded their termly assessments in SIMS where their gradeset matched that used in Casper and conducted all of their tracking in SIMS but exported the data into Casper for the SEN Comparative analysis (ability to compare like for like outcomes specifically focussed on Special Needs pupils and their area of need), it worked really well. Regarding the EYFS with the screen sizes being wrong and easy to select the wrong gradeset – the Progress grid (or APP grid) defaults to show just 2 bands of the 8 band grid so scrolling is required, which makes it clunky. We have this on the list for autumn. Also on the Progress Grid it is possible to ‘forget’ to select a result set and it defaults to ‘no resultset’ and you have to pick one – this is the correct assumption however it needs to be more obvious, or an alert / prompt should flag that you have not yet selected a resultset before entering data (our Product Manager has fallen foul of this too) This is also on the list for autumn.

Azure certainly bills for usage of storage, processor , power, servers and bandwidth required.

@Roberto - not really many cloud MIS solutions are multi-tenanted i.e. multiple schools in one database. (remember I am not talking SIMS - we are not in the cloud)

I can't imagine any MIS cloud supplier wanting a third party creating routes into the tables. The supplier is responsible for performance and will incur costs if inefficient code is accessing tables not to mention concerns over bypassing all validation checks.

@Dave_Bensley - spot on. As soon as anything goes out to a spreadsheet it gets out of date and it becomes very difficult to manage. Ofsted will be looking to ensure that the SLT view corresponds with that of the classroom teacher. Data needs to be in one place.

Progress 8 isn't completely defined as yet. You can get close to what has been put up within AM but some of the bits around the edge need to be hard coded unfortunately. The plan is to get a report into AM probably with the autumn release. Schools are not required to report on Progress 8 until next year.

Does Aspen have APIs that allow TPs to access data in their cloud?

I think you will find that e1 is not alone in only offering CTF, CSV output from their "cloud" solutions.

Just to be crystal clear - we will not be releasing the NI product in the rest of the UK for quite some time.

Virtually all SLG sites come to us directly and there are a lot of them! It's also nothing like the price quoted earlier in this forum. I also think it looks great!

We have a large high quality team dedicated to supporting TP access as a chargeable service; it includes software, sandboxing, data etc. That is paid for through various charging mechanisms - it just about breaks even but not quite. Read access is only supported through documentation and doesn't normally drain our resources.

No we publish the APIs and anyone can use them foc.

No it's the very same app we showed at BETT.

So we don't charge for read access and our write charges have been fixed for years. Our TP support team doesn't recover all of its costs.

This was a proof of concept we produced a few years ago. We are releasing an app shortly that has its origins in this project.
