Very grey area to be honest. Really what you can do is dictated by school policies that students and parents have signed / agreed to. I would always cover myself with this sort of thing by only getting involved with written authorisation from senior management.

I'm thinking about travel arrangements to BETT and I'm actually being mad enough to consider driving it. Rather than a drive-park-train-tube-dlr combination, taking about 3.5 hours at best guess and costing around £70, according to Google Maps, I can do an 90 mile drive, taking 1h 55m without traffic, up to 2h 45m in bad traffic. So, door to door travel and then £15 worth at the ExCel car park and I'm done - saving quite a bit of money and probably at least 45 minutes in the process. It somehow seems more attractive than a Southern trains 'sardine can' ride through South London, then a tube slog before sampling the delights of the DLR cattle trucks. Something tells me it can't really be that simple? Has anyone done this for BETT before? If so, how was it? Looks straightforward enough on the map. What's the Excel parking like? BETT website says it's 'ample'. My route would take in the M23, M25 and A2 - guessing there is potential for nightmare there in the mornings? Be interested to hear thoughts!

Depends what type of Paxton card they are! You might be able to read something from them using an NFC enabled smartphone and suitable app?? It's probably worth speaking to Paxton themselves - their support people are very very helpful and they may be able to suggest something.

I feel your pain. I'm having the same thoughts, and am in the same position re: salary requirements. I'm a bit younger at 35, but it still seems as impossible. Especially as I can't actually figure out what I want to do...

My last Mondeo (Mk3) hated Tesco diesel - ran like a dog on it. But it also didn't like BP Ultimate which was the Ford recommended fuel for it??! It was fine on Esso or Shell regular though. And now that is all I feed the Mk4 that replaced it.

I think I'm getting old too - my selection of a free-choice Christmas gift from my father was a pair of motorcycle tyres. Old because of going for something practical like tyres, and a bit 'mid-life crisis' because they are for a motorcycle!

We've got a Philips one which we've used for years. However, I am not that convinced about how much use it is. I now find it very easy to sleep through the light and have a hard time waking up with the radio too. No substitute for real daylight in my opinion.

They really couldn't come up with a better name for it than that?!? And didn't foresee any problems or unfortunate associations being made? I'm stunned. I reckon there might end up being some disappointed customers when the realise what their $9.99 includes (or more specifically doesn't...)

I've seen similar with Windows 8.1 My solution was a System restore to a point before the updates installed, then upgrade to Windows 10. Sorted!

Take care with this one, some operators require you to get the ticket endorsed to this effect at the station before you get on a different train. It's always best to get advice from rail operator staff at the station first to be sure. You don't necessarily have to queue at the ticket office, information desk staff can usually help, maybe even platform staff in some instances. In any case, I would always try to find the guard/conductor before the train leaves. Penalty or full-price fares can be astronomical.

Parents Evening System here - it's great. We love it, parents love it. It just works, simple as that. Very easy to set up. Developers are great, very responsive to suggestions. We also use the Events booking side of the system to manage signups for our after-school clubs programme. Highly recommended!

Ah now on a desk I could see the uses. But the one I was given was a laptop light that's only purpose was to drain the laptop battery - quite a few years ago now when a couple of hours life was the best you were going to get anyway!

Pretty much anything 'USB' that wouldn't normally be expected to be USB compatible: - USB Plasma Ball - USB Lava Lamp - USB Can Fridge - USB Laptop light Need I go on...

The question is, would you know if it did work? I know it's theoretically possible, but how many people in the real world have actually killed anything by not using an anti-static wristband? Short of intentionally shuffling around on a nylon carpet and intentionally touching the chips?

I'd be wary of a phone with a non-removable battery and no upgradable storage. I've had an LG G2 since Feb 14. Great phone, lovely screen, decent camera. However, by now, I've run out of storage space and would have to remove things that I actually want to have on the phone to free up any more. Admittedly it's only 16GB, but it's certainly not enough. What's the point of a phone with an HD video camera function and video editor if there isn't enough space to use it! Also, the battery is well and truly knackered now - I'm lucky to make it to dinner time before the 'low battery' warnings start at 20%, and I don't use it heavily. I'm not sure I can make it through to next upgrade in Feb 16 without chucking the thing out of the window. It would be a very different story if I could plug in a 32GB MicroSD and change out to a fresh battery. I'm also getting a bit tired of android and it's flakeyness - things like starting app updates when I'm actively using the phone and making it slow to a crawl, home screen icons disappearing when an app is updated and when something randomly decides to hammer the processor in the background and your phone gets red hot and you lose about 20% of battery in 5 minutes. I'd put that down to dodgy manufacturer customisation, but both my wife (with a stock Nexus 4) and my Dad (with a pretty vanilla Moto G) have the same experiences. Maybe worth a look at alternatives?
