I am looking for a string that will copy the file from source (multiple folders in tree) to destination and delete only the file (not folder) from the source ? xxcopy.exe e:\users\students\01\*.bmp \\compaqsvr\fserver1\dump\ /S /RCY /R /PD0 That is my string.. but the results concern me as it says it is deleting directories at the scorce... but they seem to bee there when I look ?!? What is the switch in XXCOPY that deletes the source file on copy ?

Hi just opened Nasty File Search that I downloaded from Edugeek.. When I run in not in delete mode if make a log showing the paths to all the "nasty" files.. When I run it in delete mode it has a runtime error.. "Run-Time error 53 File not found" click OK and the program closes.. Any idea whats wrong? Also can I use XXCOPY to "MOVE" nasty files in their file structure from the students area to another Server where I can hold the files for a couple of days before deleting them ?

HI The Music Department has just purchased 2 brand new I-Macs. We are running a Server 2003 Windows Domain.. With Ranger as security. What and how is the easist and best way to add these MACs to the Domain and to have the user shares ? Can Ranger work on Apples ?

Really? How? Unlike Moodle, Fronter is being pushed almost entirely as a vendor hosted solution. This means that a server outside the firewall would have to contact you SIMS server inside the firewall. Or have they created some kind of client application to install at school periodially uploadd updates to servers at Fronter HQ? The LGFL are going to host their own Fronter Servers.. within Synetrix's firewall

Just came from a Fronter Road show and all I can say is .... WOW... what a cool peice of software..... You really can't knock it.. Intergrates with CMIS, SIMS, Phoenix and the other one.. Soon Bromcom and Wouton Samuel And what the LGFL are offering as Support and Development it's onto a real winner..

Hi I am having problems restoring with Backup Exec 9.1 Have 7 Tapes.. Want to restore a folder.. Had a tape in and saw the folder and tried restore.. restore failed and spat tape out.. tried next tape and there are no "selections" for me to choose from.. ran inventory and still no "selections" How do I look for and restore a folder on tapes.. what about if the staff are using Local Profiles (with Ranger)

We allow LA rights for staff on Staff PC's as we feel that they need to explore ICT and see what works for them.. There is no peer to peer allowed or such but only "proper" software.. (like the CD in the TES) If the PC dies we just re-ghost and it's as fresh as a daisy again... This is better than having the frustration of the staff moaning that they are treated like children and that the T&L is suffering because they cannot experiment with new software without asking the permission ICT Department.. We have a good working relationship with the teaching staff and we like to keep it that way... The staff also have read and write permissions to the Students folders.. as they transfer the students work from Floppy/Flash drives to the students folders in class.. or else we would have lots of students coming to the ICT office asking for their homework to be copied everyday.. We also give the "ICT Teachers" Student Password Change rights.. and thays only Change the Student Password.. Laptops... they are free to do what they want with as again I feel that they must play with new software and see how it can improve T&L and not have a Laptop where thay can only do Office and other pre setup software work... Again.. if it dies.. a quick Ghost and it's as fresh as a Daisy..

We are the same.. only ICT staff have the keys.. no one else...

After you have done this you have to go to the Command Consol and find the PC, Add the PC to the group and then update for your Antivirus to work as the manual installation is not fit for purpose. I was happy with the new Sophos.. but now after 3 days of struggling to get it on 500PC i am tearing my hair out.. you set it to delete any virus.. but when it detects a virus it does nothing.. even tho the group settings says delete.. It's not installing on half of my PC's You can only install on 15 PC's at a time of the installation crashes.. rant rant rant.. Dunno what remote registry settings are and if they are off or on rant rant rant. "Is it a commercial DVD?" Kinda .. in a way... we just want 2 min of something and two min of something else.. The is an I-Pod ripping software that does a very good job... you just forward the DVD to the secrion that you want Pause the DVD Select Record on the ripping software play the DVD for two min select stop on Both the DVD and Ripping software.. and you have an MPEG4 of the two min clip.. the only problem is that it is very low quality as it is ripping for and I-Pod..

(Sorry No Media Section) My Media Teacher is looking for a DVD ripper for a PC that he can rip sections of a DVD out and store them as an AVI or MPEG... The ones that I know just rip the entire DVD.. Anyone know of a Ripper that we can use to grab sections of DVD's ?
