  1. Hi, A friend is about to get involved with BusinessLand about whom I have heard and experienced very bad things (internal grade cable being used for external jobs whilst charging for external grade cable etc) and was wondering if anyone could comment on this company at all? Please PM me with any details and I will keep messages in the strictest confidence. Thanks in advance.
  2. I'd love to move down there... Sigh...
  3. These don't exist...
  4. Impero is outstanding - highly recommended.
  5. We have ~90 Wyse 9150 units which have started to die for no apparent reason after less than 2 years of use and as such I would not recommend them. We have also recently taken delivery of some custom-build Ruby thin clients built by A2Z computers which look quite promising. ive them a call as they have a number of options available (including converting old/useless PCs you may have lying around).
  6. That site trips the E2BN content filter
  7. Lol - I'd like to talk to just one!
  8. We want to open up Terminal Services to our staff but the 16 bit issue is a killer - our Terminal Servers run on x64. We would also like to move our SIMS install onto a 64-bit server to take advantage of the increased RAM handling abilities, but I suspect that we won't see x64 compatible apps for donkeys years yet.
  9. Impero cost our school £5000, but I feel it was money very well spent just on the amount of time it saves my team as we can now do so much more remotely. The ability to run scripts and the like (Impero has its own scripting console) on a whole room at once is fantastic. The support from Impero is also excellent and they tend to incorporate suggestions and tweaks into the very next release of the software (which come round every few weeks). Once you start factoring in the teaching tools, and Impero is streets ahead of most of its competitors. I am reliably informed that A2Z Computers from whom I purchased the system are quite negotiable on price! There are ways of recouping costs as well, such as resale of PICstick (a version of Impero for use at home by concerned parents)...
  10. LOL. I'm deaf now too though!
  11. Whoops. Just found this one for a F/T ICT Technician in Maldon too!
  12. Just had a quick look on the Essex County Council website and there are three IT jobs listed this week: F/T ICT Technician - Basildon Term-Time + 5 ICT Technician - Epping P/T ICT Manager - Harlow Hope this helps someone
  13. Def Leppard - Carling Academy Islington. Anyone else there?
  14. Could be timeouts caused by multiple stations accessing the same txt file at once?
  15. We use Impero here which covers both classroom management functions in addition to student monitoring and protection. There is a free trial download on the website. You are also welcome to come and have a look at it in use here
