the feature i like with the google one it you can set the index up yourself ie for me will only index after 15mins of idle

also the bit i like is the dfs and i have tried it out works really well i now have profiles shadowed and my docs so if one of the servers does fall down people still have access to there my docs and profile login even if they dont have access to nothing else and it is all quota

lol had a look at it it seems really good but i have found when you save it to play the qualty goes and cant read the text on screen ie a web fourm ect

here is some more about it http://desktop.google.com/enterprise/adminguide.html#indexingCategory

i never get there no more as i live in south west but i love to visit and the view are sooooo nice and you have got everything.

there is a way around that ie you sell it yourself and then donate the money back to the school and you can do that all the school has to do is agree and write the equipment off and away you go. and if the money is donated it goes into pta fund and its never lost at the end of the year as pta has there own account and they use it as they wish ie school askes for new server and pta can fork out the funds. (depends on how good your pta-frends or the school are)

ok where do i start. At the begining you say, I have beed told i need to make a few small videos to put on our internal web sight to show people how to do a few thing. So i have managed to record the screen not a problem. but the when i try to do any work on the avi file what so ever i lose so much qualty. i have tried all sorts of ways to do it but every time the qualty just gets wose. The trouble is i need it to go on the internal web so the file cant be that big. if anyone has any good ideas how to edit the avi without losing so much quilty it would be great.

I have been asked to install the said item. What do you think i know the what it to display anolog clock and also a few useful features. the trouble is i have tried to deploy this key but it does not seem to work i thought that a gpo reg upate did not need a restart to apply but i may be wrong as it look like i have got a few more machines and i was going to deploy the reg key to sort the problem out. anyone know if this will work.

have just bought 3 machines all have xp on them connected them to the network no problem. Then came the problems they dont pick up the software deployment at all. made sure they were up to date and everything. But still no luck then i found this ?? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840669/en-us I have found i need to add the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue 60 on all the pcs. Anyone know what is causing this (by the way after adding this i have had no problems with ad gpo msi deployment.

What a f???ing nightmare First teachers were told to install it (didnt need to used a zip and just unzipped it) then it installs firefox (with very bad coding) and all it is is a copy an paste facility. Next as teachers use roaming profile the go abnove limit no problem up to 100 mb+ above and to top it of when i do manage to redirect it to a network drive the cant use it at home. With that and dll issues and crashing pluss much more and this is recomened by dfes built by capita (mozila) and told non it savy teachers just to install it and even gave them the zip folder to install it. Who do i charge for the extra 15 hours work i have done this week. Then they turn round and its no good so i am uninstalling it (when is the uninsal its not there) never again and the teachers have said the same. ps sorry about spelling grammer its just wound me up that much needed to get it off my chest.

Has anyone been on a think you know course. I am going on one it has been recomended. Looks really good but dont know anyone who has been on one (its free as well) links http://www.ceop.gov.uk/ http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/ what do you think ??

We have had a bit of a pullback and now been told to hold fire on installing it

by the way the tool is firefox in a crappy coding and they have not even hidden the fact or given mozilla any credit (someone could be in trouble) if you ctrl-alt-del then right click on aplications on the tool and the click goto prosses and it take you to ????? have tried it on two machines and its firefox. Not happy as they have not given mozilla any credit for coding and its made a right hash of my test machine which did have firefox on it and it seems to have crupt my plugins as they try to work on this tool??

we have 4 of these camreas and about the only good use for them is as a cheap webcam as as soon as you take them off and put them back need to reinstall driver. and need admin rights to do it just wait till the lovly children want to use them. even more fun if pcs are networked. these are only disgined for standalone machines. thats what i was told and to work them propley you need admin rights (like i am going to give a student admin rights even if it is just local.
