Quick side note from this was method of authentication do you use. I wanted to go biometric with ad authentication as a backup but the cost is much higher given the hardware additions and support cost if you lease

Looking for cost effective products that can be used for recording voice files It is to be used in languages speaking exam and thought using the native voice recorder within windows to achieve this. Sound recorded has to be good quality, with maybe surround noise cancelling. Looking for suggestion on a good quality but not breaking the bank style microphone. Happy to take Alternative suggestions also if you have experience of a better solution Thanks Paul

Update - walked in this morning and all my protection groups were ok again. @snagrat you must have been right but has taken a couple days for dpm to realise. Thanks for your help

Another thing to look out for Is the dpm agent service running on the protected server? Is the protected server agent up to date?

Do backups on the protected server fail when in this state? I regularly see dpm agents status as unknown or unreachable but backups function as normal. refreshing the status within dpm |management | agents will return all ok.

I thought this may have been the case but I checked today after crediting my account on Friday and my protection groups are still failing their online sync

Following an incident that caused my dpm online protection to become disabled I have recredited the account and azure confirm the service is again active, however my online protection groups in dpm still report my subscription has expired. I read online that online services will not resume until the next billing month. I obviously have onsite backups working but concerned that my online backup is now in breach of our disaster recovery plan. Surely regardless of the fact that it was our fault we defaulted on payment in the first place they cant punish us for the remainder of the month can they? Azure portal has changed a lot recently and is not exactly intuitive so wondered whether I am just missing something in the portal complexity. As mentioned I have recredited the account Is there a way of forcing azure to resume online backups?

Is your time zone different between the computers that your remotely clearing and the computer you are using?

Can’t say for certain but I cant see it being the computer clocks being out. Login wouldn’t have worked at all therefore the local cached profile wouldn’t have been created in the first place If you remove the age switch from your script does go ahead and delete the profile. Or does it still error???

Yes i feel your pain.... I was tasked with the same job several years ago. Put up two computers and monitors in reception driving xibo which still to this day has the stock ppt I uploaded on day 1 with different colour slides saying this monitor is awaiting content. The publications manager was trained to use it. Several months later when reminded several times and understand this is from the person who tasked me to do it decided she didn’t care about it and was no longer her responsibility. Reason I haven’t taken it down is because it fulfils some fire reg notification when we perform fire alarm tests every Friday morning Admittedly it would look really good if they actually used it. God only know what waiting parents and staff must think.

Our autodesk is installed using an NLM. The reason you are being asked for activation is because your license server is not available or the license file is incorrect. Be warned The license file is MAC address specific. I had an issue where my license server stopped licensing autocaf suddenly one day. Worked it out to find the VM had dynamic MAC address which changed for some reason. Make sure you Mac on the vm is set to static to avoid this happening to you.

Think you have a number of good options available here for you to achieve what you need to, however if you find you need another option ping me. I have an old skool cmd line script that bulk resets to random passwords by using a csv. Never really had the need to use it so never adapted it. Basically Does the same as Ps script but not as clean but just as effective Thanks

Good shout on the IWB. Yes majority of our iwb are 4:3. Just had a new build where I have been buying interactive projectors and a whiteboard instead of iwb. Seems to work better as it offers teachers the interactive features for those who want to use it and the ability to write on a standard whiteboard My long term plan is to eventually remove all iwb for the interactive projectors. Just a large expense moving from a central mounted projector to ultra short throw wall mounted

X27 has hdmi port and is compatible to switch to widescreen. Good to have 4:3 as they are still around. We have a few ourselves

Yeah eb x27 is the best classroom projector to buy at the moment. Affordable and as others have commented reliable and extremely easy to setup.

We had an exact same scenario. Would the new build follow roughly the same route as the temp location. Is it feasible to lay a temp/permanent fibre. Meaning laying for example 2 x 8 core fibre, 1 to your computer suite and the other rolled up in a secure place where the uplink would split off to your new build. It can be then fed in when the building is ready and terminated at a later date? Works out far cheaper in our case

cant test at the moment but what if you Restrict access to the C:\ using gpedit.msc. This will like affect cloud storage if cached onto the c:\ eg one drive, but nothing stopping them from uploading/editing thru o365 online

By default yes but has it been checked whether they are using another custom port perhaps for remote apps. For example Can you connect using port 3389? Are any other schools with a similar setup experiencing issues? That would narrow down whether you are dealing with a remote issue or localised issue

Do you know your public Ip that you connect to? Try putting it into port scanner looking at open ports on 443 and 3389

Have you checked that your la haven’t changed something which may be causing this. Whilst you have an outbound rule setup, your la should have an inbound rule also set. Someone may have unintentionally blocked you. Mistakes do happen our la wanted to block 3389.

Nothing too strange but Found the mouse that was supposed to be attached to the computer inside the case. Couldn’t work out why someone would remove the mouse, open the case, and neatly wrap it up inside. I only found it because they hadn’t properly aligned the case guides when securing it again. 🤨
