My understanding is it follows the user to what ever pc she logs onto. Other users are ok on the computers that the subject user is not. How old is this user on the network? Has she never been able to logon successfully?

Has the user got a home directory specified in ad and share and permissions set correctly

Where is your profile stored? Look at Permissions on the share as well as the Nt security permission Or Is the user in question part of the group that has permission to read/write the profile?

Firstly need to determine is this just one pc or everypc. This could be as simple as individual pc issue to a full network dns issue. Do you get the same results from other computers on the domain? If no First of all try from a cmd prompt on an affected pc ipconfig /flushdns check your hosts file on affected pc( open with notepad). Any weird entries %windir%\system32\drivers\etc If across all computers on network ... Was your dc promoted into the domain maybe under that ip which I assume is within the dhcp scope then changed to a static address .2 afterwards? Also were your legacy dc demoted out of the domain and dns properly migrated Check all your dcs have a static ip and dns address assigned to the actually dns server ip on your network. Also check additional dns ip in the advanced button of ip4 adapter properties config for any additional ips that may have been added for whatever reason. There are mixed views on the best practice when setting dns priority on multi dc domain. Some say and Personally I have 127.0.0.1 As primary dns address and my secondary dns set to the other dc. Others say it should be the other way around. Check reverse dns lookup under the ip .46 to see if there are two or more entries under that ip. I mean no disrespect by this comment but At this point I would seriously assess your ability to deal with this issue before making any dns changes as with all dns issues you can easily make things far worse.

Wrote my own script which composes a list of computers that reply to a ping then shuts those ip down using remote shutdown cmd Runs as a task from a server at 4:30 pm then used to have them WOL at 8am. I used to use WOL in the morning but the school head and business manager was not convinced they were shutting down and therefore were wasting electricity, despite me showing them the logs. Now the staff have to turn them on when required 🤯

Just to clarify Is there 3 switches in this scenario Core —> switch 1 —> switch 2 (edge) So the vlan is tagged on the port core to sw1 on both switches Then tagged on the port where sw1 and sw2 uplinks. Exporting list out of active directory will export the columns that are showing in ad at the time. You can either limit the view or open the csv in excel and delete the nonrequired fields. The other problem with doing it that way is you have to export every ou into separate csv and then combine them to make a single csv. Whilst this is relative straight forward it can be tedious if you have loads of ou’s. Using powershell may be easier. There doesn’t seem to be an mis sync app. I looked for it as we use it on another site with vericool. They have a nationwide owned computer in the canteen with a sims link app constantly running communicating with their head office.

Had a new sims server and need to point nationwide cashless catering system and parent pay at the new sims server and cannot work out for the life of me where to make the changes. They have a sims link running on a machine in the canteen which communicates with head office but no obvious settings menu or config file. Nationwide want to charge me £100 for the privilege of changing server instance and dB name. Thanks

Not as you describe no. Are you saying if you open EXchange console manager and open a users properties. There is a check box which hides the user in GAL. Is that unchecked?

Just a thought I have had. Have you a smoothwall? Not saying it is but would like to put it out there. The only odd office behaviour I have experienced amounted to our smoothwall not being able to communicate with office servers when a user first logged in As non authenticated traffic was blocked. Our smoothwall authentication configuration at the time was ntlm auth. Solution was to create an authentication exception policy with all the office server addresses in.

Having a bit of experience with X over cat 5, I would like to offer advice based on my experience. Meter mark the cat 5 with coloured tape it makes for easy identification when clustered with all the other cables when trying to diagnose a problem, not limited to the x over cat 5. Eg you may be identifying a problem with any one of the other cat 5 cables.

Working in a school I have access to the tech suite who arsenal of tools work for every circumstance. Upright band saw and under bench circular saw give the cleanest and straightest cut

What a strange symptom. I too assumed it was a pc lock up rather the security locked. The only thing I can suggest is possible malware or corrupt profile. Or group policy Does it happen across multiple computers? Does it happen on a new user profile on a symptomatic pc? What is your dcs operating systems? Try putting a symptomatic computer in a test ou with gp inheritance block? Check your gpo that have office 2016 settings? Can all of your dc’s read the settings of your office 2016 admx?

Have you ever worked in a school??? A school expects only to buy once and never have to renew ever. All equipment must live as long as the person it has been handed to. [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12] I have sent an email to all staff it concerns explaining that they can keep the laptop for what ever purposes they see fit but they aren’t allowed to have any school data on it. If they want to use it for school they must use rds.

Some advice with regards to my options. My wife dropped her iPhone in the toilet on Friday. When my wife told me and handed me the phone the screen was blank but running very hot. I proceeded to try turning it off by holding power and home key for a good 30seconds. After a while it did start to feel it was cooling down but it is difficult to determine whether fatal damage has already been done. I have had the phone in a sealed container filled with rice for about 48 hours now but even trying to charge or turn it on there seems to be no life. As a last ditch attempt, I have ordered a tool kit to take it apart to see if it can be dried anymore. The phone has no insurance. Has anyone got any advice or experience they can offer.

When I do an update I generally use Activity monitor in sql management studio to see whose logged in.
