  1. Not here. I am trying to move staff away from rd and push staff towards o365. I recommend you open a new thread with your question.
  2. Sound like then the two 15k may be better option of them all. I may be cheeky and ask for money to buy a new HV server [emoji108] due to incompatibility and now unsupported hardware [emoji6]
  3. Afaik it still effectively removes all the files but shows as failed if it can’t delete the user folder (not an issue really with the age switch). And I guess Not much of a problem anyway as if any profiles fail due to this the next shutdown will cleanup what was missed last time.
  4. I’m of the same thought when suggested. I guess you can expand the raid afterwards but I would be quite nervous as it is a system disk of a HV. Question. would it be the same for spin speed. If i put a 15k in let it rebuild then another 15k in later would the raid config still down rate it to 10k???? Or will it be fully utilised
  5. +1 Delprof However I would script it in a shutdown script. Startup scripts tend to prolong the logon process where the user is waiting around. shutdown however it is likely the user has finished therefore the script will run without inconveniencing anyone. you can even declare an max age eg 7 days so the more frequent users are not waiting around for as long for the profile to be recreated.
  6. Good Morning Everyone I'm sure I know the answer to this question but want to hear the opinions of my peers on this situation I have a HP ProLiant DL380 G7 With 2 x 146GB 6G 10K SAS SFF drives setup in a Raid 1 configuration with server OS installed on it with HV role installed Quickspec https://www.hpe.com/h20195/V2/Getdocument.aspx?docname=c04199811 Page 24 has the HDD 1 of the HDD have failed and requires replacing. Unfortunately the exact replacement is EOL and I can only get refurbs or ebay specials which I am not bothered about but only as a last resort. Iwould prefer brand new given it is a HV host I would like your opinions which replacement HDD to rebuild the raid on. I understand that for instance if I install a 15k replacement or a larger drive. it will effectively down rate to the lowest spec but never been in a position where I have actually had to implement. Anyone had any issues with mixed drives in a raid? as there is a 15k 146GB available would you choose that over a 10k 300GB for example. or would you be happy with a refurb??? Thanks
  7. I second this response [emoji106]
  8. Lol I feel your pain, I really do. The last Xp machine we had had an unfortunate unrecoverable accident. [emoji573] [emoji95] [emoji335]
  9. My wife’s gran has had a flip video recorder for years and it’s becoming a bit temperamental and was looking for suggestions for a simple to use replacement. Do I replace it for another flip? She is 86 years old. Appreciate suggestions
  10. Another lad a follow is 331erock. Doesn’t sing or perform just plays guitar covers Another awesome artist

  12. Got all his covers in a playlist and listen to them daily at work. Find it oddly relaxing listening to heavy metal. Makes me more productive [emoji869]
  13. This guy is ace. Been following him for months. Talented artist and really good covers imo better than the originals. Seen rocky survivor cover
  14. I agree with what been mentioned however I would stress if they are to set a password on the document and they lock themselves out of the file they are likely to lose the data for good. Well there is a way but I have had mixed outcome when attempting to so don’t advertise it to avoid false hope
  15. Just an update to put a close to this thread. Opened a ticket to Microsoft who claimed you can’t for what ever reason however they can email me a copy. over a week on still not vat receipt. Thankfully I have managed to be reimbursed based on my screen print.
  16. I agree. The point being if they want to choose to remove all access to everyone but safeguarding staff then They would have to store the data offsite away from your network to guarantee them that no one else but themselves have access. An admin has potential access to all data everywhere on the network. If I were to even entertain the idea I would probably suggest that they buy a standalone o365 account (or other cloud based solution) each and share the data between the members. Obviously they are not allowed to have a shared account. They are essentially wanting to be domain admins of there own mini network. I would also stress that this choice means that they are responsible for that data and ensuring all policies by the school are enforced. They would have to ensure amongst other things that data is backed up, strong passwords are implemented. Also Who is responsible for password recovery. Also who is responsible if there is a change in staffing. I bet if they knew how much work and the responsibility required to facilitate excluding everyone including ict from their little club this I’m sure they would come to the conclusion that they haven’t got the shoulders to play god and that it is easier and less work for themselves to just trust you.
  17. I'm good now Matt, thanks. I can appreciate being in a similar role how busy we all are, which is what edugeek is all about. allows the community to pick up the slack to help one another. I'm likely to have stumbled across the service at some point myself but Fiza beat me to it Good job all
  18. @fiza Thank you I did look for a service but hadn't realized that it installed a service under that name all I needed to do was restart the Gateway32 service.
  19. OK that makes sense Although the server has the license and is activated the console under servers still states eval. What have I missed? I used this computer as my test of which I used the eval version before purchasing. is there a cache that needs clearing or does each console need licensing separately?
  20. @NetSupportTechSupport First off thank you for all your help with deployment. managed to deploy the agent and console out now. I have deployed with no department specified so all the agents are being collated under "no Department". My next question is in the console the container seems to have reach 50 computers and wont populate any more. does this make any sense? Have a missed something? Thanks
  21. Hey @Al_NetSupport Any chance of anymore free licenses. just bought a 250 license before seeing this thread and I missed this offer I'm gutted. Great product though in testing and looking to deploy but need a hand from @NetSupportTechSupport to first activate my license and then offer advice on deploying notify agent and console via GPO. Appreciate any help
  22. would be something like this. Be warned the send as permission has a delay before propagating. it may show up in EMC as applied but I have known it to take upto 24 hours Add-ADPermission -identity "User" -User "Domain\User" -Extendedrights "Send As" or full control Add-MailboxPermission -Identity JeroenC -User 'Mark Steele' -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All -Automapping $false To read data from another dc use the switch -domaincontroller "dc.domain.com". No repercussions, it only specifies the dc to read the info from. if omitted the exchange just chooses the best available at the time.
  23. Can you powershell the sendas permission? (Running as administrator) I will paste the one liner in for you when I get to my computer. I’m on my phone atm Aside from this issue Be warned that exchange 2010 is not supported on 2016 dc so any problem you do encounter may get knocked back if you raise them to Microsoft. Because of the minor issues I have already encountered and If you haven’t already got one introduce a 2012 r2 dc. You will be able to carry out tasks that error on exchange pointing to this dc until you can either upgrade exchange or cut over migrate into O365
  24. I may be taking a stab in the dark but Have you a 2016 dc? I found a couple no supported issues with exchange 2010 and 2016 dc One being adding a database in emc. Workaround is powershell targeting a non 2016 dc
  25. We are still using cs4 full suite, site license if I recall cost us at the time 16k Crazy prices Not much has changed with photoshop since. Not significant to the curriculum anyway
