Daft thing I do have a work credit card that’s why it’s never been an issue before but on this occasion authorisation failed and our backup began failing on the first day of the school holidays when ... you guessed it all finance team were OFF. Alright for some
-
Have done already. Was just seeing if anyone in the community could answer my question quicker. £480 sat on my credit card is a bit of pain when I got Xmas shopping to do. [emoji318] I’m glad that this isn’t as easy as you would expect it to be. When I opened the ticket I was expecting ms to reply telling me if I didn’t know that then I shouldn’t be working in ICT [emoji23]

The classic portal has now been removed for recovery services and you are forced in to modern portal. I can see that it must be by design of the subscription I have an azure in open (current) and payg (old) Click on payg and an option appears for invoices but none are available due to the age of the invoice retention Flick over to current azure in open subscription and the invoices option is replaced with credit history. This is just the screen I referred to before as my only proof of purchase. Problem is it is not that detailed and unsure whether it is sufficient evidence. Still waiting approval.

This should not be as difficult as I am finding it and apologise in advance if I am just being a numpty. I need a VAT receipt or any receipt that proves purchases of azure credits so I can claim the expense when I used my own credit card, however this does not seem very straight forward. I have searched the whole site using the help and googled it and I am not getting the answers I want. the best I have managed to achieve is screen print of the credit history which gives me very little detail. Surely I'm not asking to much of MS system. Can anyone point me in the direction to my little problem

I have two video converters one called hand break which I use for majority if not all conversion. It free and good. I also use not so often magic video converter premiumish [emoji6]. TBH I really don’t know why I have mvc. Don’t have to use it often. The only logical reason I can think of I can’t remember if handbreak can convert mts or whether it is one of the extensions it doesn’t support. Try it.

Let’s start with the basics. Can you ping the dc and the file share server from the computers not applying the group policy? Can the dc and the file share server ping each other? What do the event logs on your server with the new file share have to offer?.

Onboard Nics or riser network card. If onboard it hasn’t somehow disabled itself in the bios?

Once more I can foresee this like all system being misused and becoming a method of communicating with someone to to pass on a sensitive message rather than having to walk couple 100yards to have a quiet word in ear of the member of staff teaching the concerning pupil. Instead they will blow it up on a projector screen somewhere or accidentally everywhere that little Poppy of 7G is to be sent to the nurses office.

We all know this is to the school just another tick box to show they have done what ofsted have suggested. Ofsted say jump and the school ask how high. The logistic are irrelevant. Here we have teaching computers vlan separately and all teachers are expected to take registers through sims. So Generally majority of teachers who are teaching will be logged in to a teachers computers. My immediate concern is they want it discrete but they want a way of informing teachers. Well generally all teacher use ppt in their lesson. What is more discrete then a message box blown up on a projector screen for all the kids to see informing them of an issue. [emoji23]

The licenses are a one off but the maintenance is optional annual. Includes all the updates and support May consider support for 1st year and assess whether it is require the second
-
Wow it is cheap. Just had quote through. £250 for the 250 client pack + £50 maintenance. I was expecting in the £1000’s

Yeah impero was my other thought but we don’t use impero and have systems in place that impero was primarily used for. I have another school which fully utiliZes impero. Really good and great support but know it to be expensive especially if we were just to use it for the notification system
-
How much did it cost you license wise? If you don’t mind me asking
-
Ofsted and the government have apparently advised schools to consider having a lockdown policy. I have been asked whether a on screen notification system or similar could be used. Today I have been speaking to net support about their system notify Any reviews on net support or Has anyone got any similar systems in place already? Have half considered writing my own but given the importance of the impending policy due to be written. I didn’t want to be inevitable circumstance where months / years down the line the requirements change and I have to adapt it to suit

99.9% of headteachers won’t ever need to spend £1000 on a laptop. they won’t utilise even the basic hardware specification of a £400 laptop. when I ask for computers and monitors for our technology auto cad suite @ £600 per computer its sorry haven’t got the budget for that but here’s a £1000 I want a brand new shiny and light toy

Block greater than 2mb jpeg/png files on network

The quota will prevent that -

Same here. Our photography students are consuming 50gb average per student and it was becoming a huge problem. Last year I implemented tougher disk quotas of 10gb per student. Each one of the students has a 1tb one drive account which hardly anyone uses. So I educated the staff to get their student to upload all their photos in to one drive and only download the photos they are looking to use. To date it is working well -
New user logs on then gets logged straight off again

Why is there a $ sign after the folder “redirected” A dollar sign normally comes on the share name, not a sub folder within a share Also I never like spaces in my paths. Not saying it’s the cause but I have known spaces causing issues that really shouldn’t be an issue -
Have capita got an approved deployment method yet?
-
Anything in the computer event viewer. Not completely dismissing a computer issue but I’m guessing the task sequence is not launching for some reason whether that be a target limitation or a server side block. When you reinstall the agent do you reinstall from the agents menu (retaining its guid) or Do you remove it then select it from the targets menu (likely will generate a new guid)

So in excel I would use a vlookup formula On sheet 1 Old id, new id On sheet 2 copy the contents of your sql table and add a new column with the formula in each of the rows that have record. I’m assuming the imageId is in column A =vlookup(a1,sheet 1!a:b,2,false) Formula explained Vlookup(lookup value, range, return value, matchmode) Match mode True = closest match False = exact match Hope this is helpful

Deployed through solus 3 deployment manager here.
-
Iv had this from time to time and not being able to tie it down to just one solution. I have carried out many different solutions to the same symptoms Iv had to remove duplicated dns records Remove lines from solus 3 sql table where the agent records are stored. Our sims support drew my attention to this Restart the target pc Reset the password to the account deploying the agent. The symptoms... Doesn’t affect all targets. Add the sims target in deployment manager solus agent deploys successfully but fails to deploy sims. show up as 0.0.0 in the solus 3 client on target pc. If you click on reinstall it does so without any issues.

If your ldf are getting ridiculously large then I would look at your backups. Are they working properly as sql integrated backup systems would normally shrink them once backup is complete. Eg DPM If you backup any other way ensure you have a complete working backup. In sql management suite Click on sims database Click on task then shrink Drop down to log file and you will notice it will fully utilised Press cancel change the recovery model from full to simple The ldf file would not have changed in size yet as this only creates white space in the file. Repeat the shrink task but you will notice this time that the free space on the ldf file will be near 99%. The rest is white space Continue this time to Shrink the log file. Look at the ldf file size and you will notice it has shrunk this time releasing disk space. Change the recovery model back to full. There is a reason why sims uses full and I can’t remember why. So best to restore it. I have done this live before on other sql databases in the past but I know my backups works. May be best to do this out of hours as the backup itself will have to be done ideally in single user mode and maybe get your sims support provider in on it also
