@LosOjos really nice photos & advice I haven't really got a proper camera but have recently taken stills on my GoPro of various things and have found I really enjoy just taking shots and tweaking them up in Lightroom, might look into getting an entry level camera just to get me started.

glad you like them, the green was definitely the most popular. I cannot claim the green one as my idea that one was purely tutorial driven but still took a bit of work with the text effect...if you fancy it here is the link Spring Wallpaper | Photoshop Tutorials

[sims] SIMS Teacher App Pricing released - Independent Schools
Griff replied to ass17's topic in MIS Systems
I just installed this in school took a while few calls to Capita, saying that I didn't notice there were installation guides so winged it. Anyway its setup I didn't really have anyway of testing it so I had to set myself up as a teacher on SIMS :\ Anyway here are my thoughts after 10 minutes on the app; - Some of the icons on the app are way too small even for me and I am young (kinda) - Constantly getting 'Teacher App Services are offline' popping up while using it my best score so far is 10 in a row until it worked - Seems to display the data nicely the mini pictures are helpful - I do find myself just constantly tapping as its not really apparent what I can and cannot open, its great because you cant actually do anything until it reconnects as it just keeps retrying over and over and over and over and over - When you pull the timetable backup you nearly always hit all the airplay settings and bring them up instead so shift that button across would be grand - Theres an icon in bottom right changes from a square to some lines no idea what it does just changes.. - Anyway lets try and be positive once you get into some of the data it displays really nicely contact details and other bits look good - I loaded up some marksheets which look really easy to work with nicely presented carousel selectors for grades, shows the picture next to the pupil in the marksheet which is top banana, should do this on the full version of SIMS marksheets its great - The timetable on ours doesn't show any lessons even when I act on behalf of another teacher no idea whats going on there doesn't seem to be any indication as to why :\ - When you swipe the menu section out on the right it lets you select Attendance, Achievement, Behaviour and Marksheets what annoys me is if you go ahead and select one then hit back it hides the menu bar so you then have to swipe this out again frustrating - Annoyingly our staff access their email via the VLE so the actual Office365 password is basically unknown to them so I need to get them all to reset those passwords manually before I can get cracking setting them up. This is still 'early access' stages for me, I think we got this free as part of our SLG deal etc. -

Meraki with Ipad woes... Need urgent help please
Griff replied to mikkydoos's topic in How do you do....it?
We have it working so you don't need the Apple ID password everytime, all you have to-do is click 'install' when it pops up saying Meraki wants to install the app. I believe the trick is in the Apple configurator setup. @_Ben has pretty much setup the iPads for me at my place sure he won't mind me sharing his documentation on it; Setting up master iPad image • Ensure all apps required for the base image have been downloaded on the Mac’s iTunes and imported into Apple Configurator. • Plug the iPad you want to use as the template into the Mac. • Go to the ‘Prepare’ tab at the top-middle and then the ‘Apps’ tab. • Tick the apps you want to be installed onto the iPad. • Go back to the ‘Settings’ tab and input the iPad name. This will usually be ‘Dept-ipad-##’. • Ensure Meraki Management is unticked. Ensure Restore is set to ‘Don’t restore backup’ • Press the ‘Prepare’ button at the bottom-middle and it will start preparing the iPad for wiping. • Once it installs the iOS, it will come to the setup screen. Go though the setup. • Passcode is always **** • Join the WiFi and then go to settings and insert the County proxy (**.***.*.** ****). • Wait for all apps to finish being installed from Apple Configurator. • Reorganize the apps as you wish, putting them in order & folders. • Unplug the USB cable. • Connect STAR or AR to the schools code (**-*******). • Go to settings and log into the ‘iTunes & App Store’ page. • Turn on App and Updates under ‘Automatic Updates’. • Go to WiFi and forget the ‘woodland’ network. • Plug the USB cable back in. • Connect the iPad to a non-proxy wireless (normally a mobile hotspot). • On Apple configurator, go to the ‘Supervise’ tab and click on USB Connected. • Select the iPad and then tick Meraki Management under ‘Profiles:’ • Change ‘Update iOS’ to Never Update • Press ‘Apply’ on the bottom-middle. • Once completed, click on ‘Devices’ in the top menu bar and choose ‘Backup’. • Name the backup deptipads-device e.g. ‘***********’. • Click on ‘Create Backup’. • Unplug the iPad. He might well correct me but I believe the whole issue we had with it asking for the Apple ID password was due to our proxy settings hence connecting it to a non-proxy hotspot (we normally use a phone) -

I will come visit Friday morning might bring some hobnobs, been to BETT 5 times and not visited the stand normally with others and on a tight schedule but flying solo this year under my new school
-
The GUID mismatching has happened on the server agent twice now so it updates the agent and immediately says its offline, so I wait 2 days for SIMS to ring back remote on and fix it in under 2 minutes normally with that ESSUtility tool they have which they always remove from the desktop after they have finished
-
The ones that are saying failed but have installed the update are they now showing offline ?

Friday for me, might change to Saturday depending on how ice hockey training goes Thursday night (Fridays are normally a pretty sore day)
