  1. From my experience, dont go cheap, it doesnt work. I'd stick to a recommended hotel. There is a travelodge, but they can be very "basic" for your £19 a night. Premier Inn are better but nearest one is by Euston or KC station
  2. Can be 15 minutes to do 7 miles or 30 minutes. I pass a fair few traffic lights and also an RAF base. Trouble is the runway flight path is over a road, each time they land in that direction, they close the road to land the "private" aeroplanes. Grr it can be frustrating.
  3. Ouch, I can't stand being off work. Could you not go in and do "some" work?
  4. I can get to it using Hgfl (hillingdon) using the proxy settings.
  5. deleted - repost
  6. I like the extra formatting features, especially the font options and picture framing. Only thing is, if they save it will save as a .docx file which staff (using 2003) wont be able to open.
  7. @russdev - sorry late night answer = gobbledy gook. I should of said - we move a computer from one room to another (then do the same with the console), yes it does work if you want to leave it there but to tidy the console up we rebuild the computers to the correct name/number so its easy to refrence later when you go back to fix them. If only there was a script rather than a 2 hour rebuild (roughly)
  8. Congrats to you. I know a few people in Oz, mainly OH family. Got a bed if we ever go over there.
  9. Its a pain, you move a computer from one location to another and you have to rebuild even if it has the same package assignment. grrrrr (am on cc4)
  10. WOW...

  12. Do I win anything? Rep power points?
  13. Ah well cheers for that, so my suggestion would of helped all those that didn't even know about the competition,
  14. The one day I did work... oh well another day.
  15. I opened this thread keen to see what I was "missing out on" it seems I am not at all. I dont buy any computer mags, instead it is "VW camper mag" I got as a subscription or sailing related if I fancy a read away from the computer. I am not a true geek to want to know which motherboard is better than the next. I am interested in keeping up to date with things though, so might grab a copy of PC Pro to see what it is like.
  16. Could you set the Logo up so that when you hover your mouse over it, it gives you a description of the reason for the logo, similar to what Google do. For today its obvious that its Pudsy, but I also am seeing another one not as obvious (attached)
  17. How cool is that idea. I'd love to see a few pics (distant is fine) of this to show our teachers. The English Department organise a Book Day every year for the year 7's. So you have about 10 Harry Potter Characters and the same again or "a cat in the hat" or Wheres Wally. Good day though.
  18. if a student is using a computer, why would they even wait for the screensaver to come on? I think she means wallpaper, we dont have a screensaver on student accounts

  21. I have a list, not a lot of tech on it tbh, mainly clothes and books. I have asked for a photoshop book, would be something I'd like to learn to do, only just got a basic understanding. I think OH has got me something techie, some people dont know how to ask without giving it away. "do you see what I buy if I use my clubcard?" no I replied, "Oh good, this thing I want to get will give us XXXX clubcard points. (me quickly looks online.....) I could be really cheecky and look at the internet history but thats no fun.

    DIY idiocy!

I take it this is your waterpipe? I'd take the plaster back to expose said pipe then have a look at what you got to fix, after all if you do the donkey work it'll be cheaper so said plumber just does job and goes.
  23. I tried an MCP about 8 years ago in XP, I found it really hard to concentrate reading a book the size of the yellow pages and trying to remember it. Did the exam twice I think and didnt get anywhere, not easy at the time but I might understand it more now.
  24. We have a signing sheet they sign but we dont call back for maintanance though
