  1. How did they get in the correct group? Did you manually add them in WSUS?
  2. Are you using AD security group based web filtering? Soudns like the firewall is blocking it for the AD account but not for the local user (which should have a more restricted policy than an authenticated user).
  3. We had this issue but with domain accounts. Google app readiness black screen
  4. Are you using GPP? You should still see it in a gpresult -h though. Do you have multiple DCs? Could be pulling from a DC that hasn't had the changes replicated to it. You could try putting them on the computer OU and using security filtering to target the user groups.
  5. Interesting one! Are you using a URL or IP for the RDP connection? Does the user need to connect a VPN before using the RDP? If you're seeing no logs on the firewall unless they make a successful connection, then the traffic isn't getting there. If you're using a URL, could it be the DNS on the domain name provider?
  6. Hi - I'm trying to open documents from a SIMS DMS backup. I've extracted the data, the filenames are there, but I think they are encrypted. When I open a document it in word, it comes up with the file conversion windows and nothing seems to make the text readable. Any ideas on how I can read these documents? Thanks.
  7. Hi We use Azure ADConnect to sync users and group to o365. I've recently added the students so created an address book policy for staff so they can't see each other in the address list. This has worked well, except the distribution groups aren't visible. Users were added to the address book policy based on group membership. Any idea how I can make the distribution groups part of the address book policy or visible to staff? Thanks!
  8. Hi Dave Thanks for the info. I've got an interview on Wednesday. See you there! Adam
  9. LOL my network manager wants me to include this in our newsletter!
  10. Erm... When you set up the LDAP connections it emails everyone with details on how to log in. It tells them their password is 'LDAP Password'. Alot of users thought LDAP Password was their actual password!
  11. Hi Is there a way to change the name of a worstation on an RM network without rebuilding the machine? Thanks
  12. We have it running on our intranet server! Their support line is great, they offer free help even if your only planning to use the lite version.
  13. Over 100 tickets so far. We only promoted it with half a page of intranet space. Their free support walked us through connecting it to AD so staff used the same user name and passwords.

I'll give jpaterson's reply a go. We have tried making bootable USBs and copying the files over but they never work! Thanks for your replies.
