I wouldnt bother with an Oyster Card, not worth the extra expense if you dont use the tube/bus that often. As for Pre-booked, no such thing on the tube, and as for getting a "reserved" seat, they dont exist. Best advice is to stand at the end of the platform, most people huddle in the middle and hence more likely to get a seat on the end carrages.

Sounds good but London = tube = ££££= nightmare. Hope you get the right candidate. -
We are going to be an Achedemy by the looks of it, a high end one not a "recovering school" one. Not sure what it means for us, but I am sure of one thing, the council will sting us when we want to renew everything, they have already upped charges on the coming year.

I'm with Matt, only WC 2010 I watched was the first 15 minutes of England when the school wanted it set up projecting into the school hall. -
England is too far away from Heathrow land

Don't laugh but people who aspire to do what you do means you have done something good in life. My younger bro (now 12) wrote in his leaving book for yr 6 that he wants to be a school technician like his brother (ME!!) Or and we also had a year 11 who just left, although had cerebal pausey (sp) wanted to go to College to then come back and take one of our jobs as he would be better than us!

Grr to all you lot. Would like one day off but at the moment London has a thin blanket of the stuff, only noticable on roof tops and garden paths.

I'd like to know why you are doing this? How can students transfer files between school and home if they have no internet and do you have Terabytes of storage for them to keep work on? We allow them, teachers use them and so do SMT and Students. The students here create large Music and Photoshop files which would be a pain for us as we have rubbish stored on our server as it is, let alone having to cope with the zillions of picture files they create.

We got our kit from DED - DED Ltd are uk suppliers of kiosk printers, retail, pharmacy, kitchen printer, barcode scanner, barcode reader, id, card, repairs, printer ribbons, printer rolls, cash drawer, customer display, epos systems, pos, hospitality, identity, label, receipt p They are fantastic even to the point they are helpful when it came to upgrading the PC to RM CC4 and I forgot how to reinstall the software. The database sits on a server and the software is really easy to use, do ask if you have any questions. We have 2 printers, both the same 330 card printer http://www.idcardprintersavings.com/v/vspfiles/photos/P330I-0000A-ID0-2.jpg

Other Half's work have people living on site in Mobile homes. They have access to the internet using a wireless router although the signal is poor, to the point they have to sit outside. Distance is about 30 metres, receiver sits in the window of the office, they sit in the caravans, only thing in between is the walls of the caravan. Any idea of a way of extending this strength, I have seen some wireless extenders but would like a few recommendations. Thanks

Ok story goes, OH works for a small company whi have 5 office staff. Her PC is an IBM running XP, I know it has a Celeron 2.4 Ghz Processor and 1Gb of Ram. The computer constantly freezes when changing a 80mb word doc (dont ask but this is the only sioftware to create said doc in) and their IT guy is saying that its a corrupt file, we no its not. Said IT guy who has loads of experience in IT related stuff, sounds to me he never knows what he is talking about and always fobs them off as they dont know loads about computers. Received this recently from her "I asked for new pc then got a whole load of c**p from him. About not needing ram and that we can't just put ram in current pc's. We could have a new processor that's faster and would not need more ram. I don't really get it." Now surely changing the RAM is easier, changing the processor is not and a new computer bearing in mind the one she has is at least 6 years old is had it. They are still running Office 2002 I think. Opinions please.

We use CardExchange, works well and we use a webcam for the pics. When the guy came to sort an issue out, turns out the same company also do the scrolling faces on the Ant and Dec Sat Night show

I would suggest only items that can be used by others. I can't see "XXX School" logo being used by others but then they might be useful as a refrence to enhance or give ideas to others.

Have you logged a call with RM? Is that any computer you use with a staff login?

we have err 1 cm of snow, oh maybe two if your lucky. Roads are clear, pathways, oh a little snow. And over 70 calls from parents to see if we are open. I have just uploaded a letter from the Head that I am sure some parents will object too, its a little strongly worded for todays parents.
