They've got a projector throw calculator. Its handy. I reckon you'll get a short throw that will do 2.5m no probs. Otherwise you could always buy a short boom and move a short throw back away from the wall a bit to increase the image size. One of these would do it but they're flippin' expensive - Infocus IN5544

A DI box doesn't bring a level up. It balances the input and cancels ground hum. That AH is a nice board m8.. You have to run through an amp no matter what, mixer or not. Have you got another pair of inputs on the back of the amp you can cable up to a wall plate / socketed lead ? To auto level audio you need a limiter/compressor you could run in line. Could even be a pedal hidden somewhere. I know what you're getting at. I wouldn't have outsiders (let alone staff) loose on that board. I had a 4K PA blown to bits by a guy who brought his own amp and to get to the speakers, ran it through the mixers mic channels with the channels and gain all the way up, then it went through my (clients) amp. It must have been about 20,000 watts by the time it got to the poor cabs. The speaker fuses didn't help lol. What I'd do would be to put a table/lectern wherever with a NUC PC on the back of a monitor and a USB hub in view. Fix it to the table. (Going out to a projector too?) Let people use that instead of having to rock up with a laptop. Powered speakers on the floor FOH, or run a small second amp back to the Eclers from a DJ mixer, add a mic. Install software to auto normalise the audio if its really that important. Portable too. No way I'd let 'those who don't know' near that kit.

Short throw would do it. Or for a straight swap 5000 ansi lumens upwards. I've got a 6500 AL projecting to 5m sq from 9m away and that's pretty fine most of the time. MASSIVE windows in there too albeit with blinds for really sunny days.

Look for consumable prices before you look at printer models. Some are absolutely horrendous and have loads of consumable parts. I have some Epsons... great printers but the toner is astronomical, needs a waste toner bottle!!!!!!, has 4 photoconductor units and 4 imaging drums. Also many lasers come with mini toner bottles out of the box which is a total rip off forcing you into making expensive toner purchases straight away. Some mid range HP's are ok in my experience. Anything where you can get compatible toners and drums. Papercut is great if you want to limit users printing or give a quota. Just monitoring you can do with a free trial of PCut or PCounter etc etc

- Probably yes. Must be a connector on the PC, visualiser or monitor. Give them a spray and a clean. U using dual outputs on the PC or chaining them ?

Loose graphics card? Bad plug on either device. If you're using a video splitter have you checked it? Give the contacts a spray with WD40.

Try the Office compatibility pack or re-save all the sheets as .xlsx https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=3 Sounds like you might have discrepancies in your office settings. Might be an idea to pick through them comparing them to a working machine.

As you know, I'm in discussions with Virgin atm who want us to sign a new 3 year contract to increase our bandwidth. We're only one year in on our current contract. I feel we should be able to upgrade the terms of our current contract without penalty. I'm not going to do this because I don't want to be tied down for 3 years just to up bandwidth. What if I want to reduce it? I personally don't think they deserve our business. As far as an ISP goes, I think if you are prepared to be reliable, flexible and fair then the contract length doesn't matter. Most ISP's are very similarly priced anyway

Trk1 = Trunk - Gotcha So all ports are Trunk AND access ports in your setup configured for VLANs 1,2,3? For anyone reading this I've found an excellent tutorial that really simplifies VLAN'ing... The VLAN Concept - Introduction to VLANs Thats my summer job sorted then. Thing is I have 2 L3 switches, one in each building. Think I'll be pulling one of them.

Got that ! - - - Updated - - - I have L3 switches at the core. OK, on the 3 switches at the edge (Cisco SG200-50P), do I need to tag each port to as a specific VLAN or do I set it to 'Trunk' and all VLANs will be accessible on that port? Or can more than one VLAN be assigned to a port? Or is this a switch limitation? How to do it if pupils and staff PC's are on a different VLAN but share the same printers and file server ? - Routing again ? Anyone got a simpler example to share to describe the routing side of it plz? I thought it was a little more dynamic that it is, maybe thats whats confusing me. Its pretty hard wired at the cabinet isn't it? Specific ports for specific PC's with specific Tags

Aaahhh! Got the IP helper bit... where do I set up the routing tho'. On the L3 router or is it done on each switch ? For example - CCTV on VLAN 20 - I want to be able to view cameras on the PC's - VLAN 1

Hi all, I'm doing (more) reading up on VLANs and am getting my head around the concepts fine. In the real world I'm stuck on a couple of things... Hypothetical example. I have a L2 switch configured with 3 trunk ports cabled to 3 other switches. - i.e. multiple VLAN's down a single cable to each of the 3 switches. Because I'm using one DHCP server with 3 scopes.... For each device to pick an IP from the correct scope, is the VLAN tagging created at the switch ports ? i.e. on the 3 switches, do I have to configure each switch port with a VLAN ID - in effect hard wiring each port to a particular ID. If so, how do devices communicate with devices on another VLAN ? e.g. VLAN 1 - printers, WiFi etc Cheers all
