  1. Your subnet and multiplier (21) should allow 192.168.1.1 -----> 192.168.7.254. Pop a higher value into the end IP range and this should give you plenty.... Max 2048 addresses. https://mxtoolbox.com/subnetcalculator.aspx
  2. @crc-ict ... Sure you have already, but when I was pricing up, I factored in the annual Smart Notebook subscription, it was a bit eye watering. We've done a few from old SB680's to flat panels where we were running an old version of notebook.
  3. It's most likely not the internet @Sonic3, It'll be the users. I'd start again, don't join it to the domain, then you can't create any profiles that will burn you later. One local user only. Snapshot it all the way too. After install, before logging in, before installing software etcn etc. Thats saved me loads of time.
  4. That will probably do it. And get it off the domain... although I prepped one of my images whilst joined. Worked ok. EDIT: Download GeekUninstaller and see what it lists as installed apps - you can use this to remove provisioned apps as well as using get-appxpackage
  5. I had problems with LTSC 1809 not sysprepping.... try this in this order... get-appxpackage -allusers | select name, packagefullname --------> Get-AppxPackage %%%packagefullname%%% | Remove-AppxPackage -allusers *****packagefullname****** == NOT the FULL package name but the 'title' of the package name e.g. Microsoft.XboxApp or whatever is listed in the lefthand column after running get-appxpackage. If that doesn't run with some kind of output from PS, it hasn't executed. I got this working by running this using the user I first logged on with. A bizarre and convoluted remedy but it worked for me. The syntax in this link is different to Microsoft's documentation but it works...... https://www.askvg.com/guide-how-to-remove-all-built-in-apps-in-windows-10/
  6. That. And I had 'Write a disaster recovery plan' not too long ago. Always had one or two on safeguarding.

  8. Yep. It's shady. I ahve a delivery report so I know my mails have got there but they're not sending accepting my read-receipt. I have all my correspondence saved tho'.
  9. I'm still trying to get an answer from their customer services rep to acknowledge our cancellation a month after I emailed them our termination notice !! The contact email I have is an individual.... Does anyone have a generic customer services email address I can copy in also so it gets to someone else. I really really can't be bothered going through the hassle of ringing them and trying to be retained.... I will cr@p on them verbally.
  10. I'm now thinking of one DC per user. You can do anything with virtual.
  11. I'd try reverting your snapshot and sysprepping again. I've done a few syspreps on an 1809 image here (LTSC though) and have had varying results when booted. GP's not picking up, having to rejoin the domain to connect to a DC... and the black screen!.. all seems random.
  12. Actually @bald_pig you may have a point there. That GP turns off asynchronous doesn't it if I remember rightly.
  13. That may cause the machine to sit for a while before it gets to the login screen. Its offsite waiting for a VPN. There is no network. EDIT: @CHiLL ... You didn't say what OS this is ?
  14. Try running this... https://diagnostics.outlook.com/#/ An MS support rep downloaded it and sorted a few mailbox issues for me a while ago.
  15. I dont have 5... just an example. I have 10.
  16. Because the DC most likely needs to be available tell the machine to map the drive each time the user logs in. A home folder connection musn't be persistent whereas folder redirection is. EDIT: Shouldn't be any delay. Do a gpupdate or you may have DNS issues there. EDIT2: Now to the metric value change on your wifi and TAP adapters. That may remove the delay. Sounds like it can't resolve.
  17. I'd say that you would need the DC available for that to map if set from AD properties. Does it connect when on site? I would try setting the drive with a GPO instead and set it to persist. Or a batch file with --> NET USE H: /persist:yes
  18. I've been having this with 1809 LTSC deployed from WDS. If I leave it for a few minutes it will log in. Only does this for one or two users however.
  19. Some of those are hard. Got 25 though.
  20. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/205453-might-help-fix-windows-10-vpn-dns-issues-when-connecting-remotely.html Posted this yesterday. Works well for me so far with similar issues.
  21. eh? DC2,3,4,5 are there for failover. Split roles ? DC1 FSMO yes, the rest just failover.
  22. Here's a great link that has helped me sort out problematic and difficult to diagnose VPN and DNS issues in Windows 10 whilst connecting remotely. I've had many users whose VPN connects without issue but is hit and miss when contacting the local network == problems with VPN's not being able to resolve DNS and therefore not able to connect to NETBIOS names e.g. mapped drives. I'm using Smoothwall and their OpenVPN bundled package which I have had major issues with on Windows 10. This has resolved the DNS problem and improved speed and reliability greatly. https://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0001402
  23. So I sent my cancellation to MLS 3 weeks ago... after having to renewing just after the new year... no reply... sent another mail 2 weeks ago ..... no reply.... another today... lets see. I know they have it, I sent with a read receipt which I've had back.
  24. Good. I was impressed too
  25. @talksr I use... ipadrepairs.co.uk and ipaqrepair.co.uk Both will do collection/delivery, prices are OK, and will invoice. They've both been quick and reliable for me. ipodrepairs just edged it for me for service. I've only used them once mind. Ipaq I have used many times and are pretty good. Typically a collection-->screen replacement-->delivery is about £60 ish. Not so bad. Hope this helps EDIT: Just noticed Ipad pro screens. These aren't going to be cheap m8. Over £200 I think.
