Good Morning I'm about to leave my job as a teacher of Computer Science and have created many Microsoft Forms for assessment. I've also used Microsoft Teams to create Lessons in Class Notebook. Id like to bring everything I have created with me, however Im struggling to see how to do this. There is no export button and I don't fancy saving everything as a PDF to upload to my new school. Does anyone know if there is a way of doing this? TIA

Just bumping this?! Does anyone use Forms here who can help?
-
As part of EdTech I have been asked to look into the use of Microsoft Forms at our school. I have used this many times before but have been asked to present to whole school on as many features as possible. What id love to know after looking into it is there any more variation of types of question in Forms, or can i download something to get this functionality? A simple drag and drop in the right boxes task, or draw lines just doesnt seem possible at all. Has anyone managed to do soemthing like this?

I'm enjoying this now!! :-) Top of the league!! :-)

I didn't know this actually worked..... Is there any setting i need to make this work?

Morning I've been asked to look into the following and I'm not sure if it can be done. When a staff member records a behaviour incident in Sims, SLT would like Activity type, Location and Time to be mandatory. The incident cant be saved until this is done. Any ideas if this is possible?

Hi Our SENCO is looking into a service called Academy21 Academy21 - Who we are. It basically looks like a classroom with real teachers (not based at our school) via video conference for those students who do not want to come to school. Has anyone ever used this before or something equivalent? I think she wants to try and use it for about 5-10 of our students.

3CX Phone System - Parent Names and Numbers
RobFrain replied to RobFrain's topic in How do you do....it?
Sadly not - We could import all the names into Excel and put them in our phonebook, however it means that every parents phone number was on every phone. Any user of the phone could then ring any parent which we didn't want - too risky. If you work something out with 3CX please do let us know! -
Have you had a look at the Biostore system called Fastrak? Definitely worth taking a look. I think you could be in quite a shock with price and functionality!

I believed we renewed in Feb 17 for another year - not three years. We paid for one year. No contracts signed this year either. Unsure where we stand.
-
Yeah we Purchased in Feb 2014 for a 3 year contract, which took us to Feb 2017. Haven't heard anything from them until today when we tried to cancel and they have told us they auto renewed the contract for another 3 years to Feb 2020.
-
Sorry to open an old thread but.. We have just gone ahead and purchased Schoolcomms payments system and about to cancel with Parentpay as our contract runs out in February..... that's what we thought. Please be careful with Parentpay as they have auto renewed our contract for three years (to Feb 2020)!! Get ready for the Lancashire County Council Legal team....

Hi We were in a very similar situation. We were either going to go for Cunninghams or NRS and at the very last minute we got a call from Biostore/ Fastrak. We felt sorry for them and gave them a chance and they came in on the morning we were deciding between the two systems. When we saw the system it was brilliant and did exactly what we wanted it to do with a nice UI for the canteen staff. We delayed the decision for another week and then chose Fastrak. Three years down the line with have had no major issues and haven't looked back. We have three wireless tills and are now looking at cashless vending machines as well. Definitely worth a look. We are currently with Parentpay, however we have seen another school who use Biostore/ Fastrak with School Gateway and it works great! If you are in the North West please do get in contact!

Ruckus ZoneDirector - Anyone updated to v10 firmware yet?
RobFrain replied to localzuk's topic in Wireless Networks
like me! It would be good if they could put the heat map on there of all the AP's so you can see what's going on! -
Ruckus ZoneDirector - Anyone updated to v10 firmware yet?
RobFrain replied to localzuk's topic in Wireless Networks
Sorry to go to an old thread Got to admit We've been using V9.*** for the last few years and it just works. Upgraded to V10 and I really don't like it. Whats with the map on the first page? I did prefer the old home screen as i could see everything in one go.. -
We already have some wireless hand mics. The head is after something that actually bolts onto the side / in the wood of the lectern? Our lectern is also slanted so I can just see the stand falling off..
-
That's what I suggested - no he wants it on the lectern.

Hi I've been asked to fit a microphone on our lectern at the front of our hall for our Open Evening on Thursday. We ideally want it to be a wireless microphone and I'm really struggling to find anything. We currently have two handheld Sennheiser ew100 G2 mics and two of the same with lapels. I'm tempted to use the lapel transmitter and plug in a decent mic into the 3.5 mm jack on the transmitter of our ew100 G2 Lapel and see how we get on? Anyone got any advice or help for me? Will this work?

Afternoon We have many many items of old hardware in our store room that we'd like to sell on Ebay (Ruckus APs, Walkie Talkies, Phones etc etc) Do any other schools use this method? Are there any procedures in place? What do you do about VAT? Any advice much appreciated!

Afternoon We have been using RM CC4Anywhere for the last 5 years. The renewal cost has come in and we're shocked at the cost. They have said they can now install RM Access for almost the same cost as the renewal for CC4Anywhere this year and then £350 a year onwards. What do other school use for their remote desktop solution? Just getting a general idea!

Sounds like Fastrak! We're very impressed with them. We're now just trying to push county and our finance department to supply us with a Fastrak biometric vending machine for drinks! Its expensive but should give us the return in about 8 months.

3CX Phone System - Parent Names and Numbers
RobFrain replied to RobFrain's topic in How do you do....it?
Just going to give this a bump.... does anyone else have a phone system like this that links to Sims so you can see who the parent is before you answer the call? -
Hi I've been asked to look into this situation.... We have three external music teachers who come into the school for music lessons. We use lesson monitor for our registers, and have recently purchase Schoolcomms. The trouble we have is that singing lessons start and finish throughout the day during normal timetable curriculum lessons. The staff member of the curriculum lesson will put an "N" for the absent child. During am and pm registration this N is then sent home via Schoolcomms. What can we do? We don't particularly want to allow an external person access to sims?

Afternoon We're currently holding a Parental Governor election at the school which involves sending a letter to both sets of a child parents. This is the first time in a long time we've had to do something like this and it has shown to us that a lot of our data is out of date. Especially year 10 and 11 students. How do you keep this data up to date? We still send out the collection sheets from the report in sims, however we don't get many replies back. What other systems are schools using? I understand that many online systems are not allowed to write back this data inso Sims unless its been checked and approved by someone?

I would definitely give them a chance. They came in at the last minute as we actually felt sorry for them. They really impressed us. I know they have now updated their tills, however I'm not sure what they are now. Just over a year down the road we have had a few problems, but you'd probably expect that with any company. I know they recently moved their support to Newcastle and we did have problems in getting in contact with anyone, but these seem to have been resolved. It was the Head's decision to make the system completely cashless and use Parentpay. No cash is accepted at all in school, and the takings for the kitchen have gone from £400 a day to £1200 a day! All in all I'm very confident in the system and we're hoping to build and use biometrics around the site very soon.
