MCS Technology Ltd usually have some good offers. Check for the Dell laptops with 3yr onsite NBD warranty. Do be a little weary of the prices though - they're excluding VAT! I've bought a few things from them in the past (Monitors and Laptops) and they've always been as described with the full Dell warranty

When we were quoted last year it was around £20k for Ruckus and around £15-20k for Xirrus for site wide coverage (1050 pupils on one site spread over about 7 buildings).

The quotes we've gotten for a Xirrus solution are similar to the quotes we've had for Ruckus based solutions so I think the outlays are similar

Having had a site survey from the guys at Xirrus this time last year I can safely say that the access points are a little mental - just the sheer number of radios + computing power that they shove in them. And they have pretty flashing lights . I'm hoping at some point in the future to get a Xirrus array and a Ruckus AP and see how they compare

For around 1200 users Papercut is currently using about 600mb on our server. We've been running it since September. Based on the size of our older Papercut backups I'd say it's growing at a rate of about 50-75mb/month. Should give you some idea of how much space is required

I know you said VMware deployments but I thought I'd chime in anyway . When we moved to XenServer here we handled everything in house, from the setup of our 7110 to installing/configuring XenServer and setting up the VMs. As part of the migration to a virtual infrastructure we also moved to a totally new 2008 R2 domain (from 2003 R2) so we didn't actually end up doing any P2V, but overall I think it was perfectly manageable inhouse.

When I phoned the Casio support line I got put through to Phil Clarke who I believe is their technical support lead/business development manager in the UK. If you have a problem may be worth asking for him? I don't think the issue was with auto keystone (although I wondered why that option was greyed out as well), but with the unit applying the opposite keystone to that which is saved. If you adjust the keystone by +/- 1 it suddenly springs into the correct keystone.

Glad I could help! When I phoned up Casio support the first thing they asked was "is it a keystone issue?" so I suspect they've had a few calls about it

I'd ask for his recommendation to install the switch in writing together with a guarantee that should the switch cause problems that they'd be paying to fix them. Which would include replacing buildings should it cause an electrical fire. If they didn't want to do that then I'd tell them then obviously they don't have any faith in it actually working and so needs to be swapped out!

I had this issue and got a response from Casio very quickly . Apparently the first A140's were mis-programmed so the keystone wasn't applying correctly. The fix is find the correct keystone setting for your screen (i.e -10) and then set the keystone to the total opposite, so in this case +10. The screen will look weird but save that setting, switch the projector on and off and it'll work correctly. If you need anything else give Casio Support a call (0208 450 9131) - they were very helpful

There isn't an Enterprise version for 2010 any longer. Professional Plus is the top end version with everything for VL customers

Two 24" monitors here. From your list I'd go for 2 x 19" monitors though. Much prefer being able to shove things onto one monitor.

Interestingly they didn't/couldn't get a scanner that did what our librarian wanted - to sit there in a dock being able to scan items without having to press a button first, but to also be able to pick it up and use it like a normal handheld scanner. In the end we found a scanner and asked if it was compatible - they said probably but they'd need it to program it correctly and check it worked. Sent it away and a week later we had a new scanner that worked

Not a wireless barcode reader but we purchased a Metrologic MS 3780 Fusion scanner for our librarian. She likes it as it sits in the stand and she just holds the books/cards under it for them to be scanned - no buttons to press! I'd have a look at the metrologic range as MLS didn't seem to have problem programming it for us when it got sent off. We purchased ours from Insight.

You know "having an issue" sounds much more sinister than falling down some stairs and twisting my ankle . Gareth I didn't make any notes for the user migration section unfortunately - I was falling asleep at that point! They did record the sessions and are supposed to be uploading them at some point, so you should be able to watch it and see how they handle it I know I'm certainly planning on watching the SCCM videos and the app compat (he was a great speaker ) videos again.
