Currently awaiting the reply from the 19 hop tracert I sent! Fingers crossed!

Yeah we have been told there are no problems there end at the moment which is why I am wondering if it was just us or if it is just a generally slow site. They are looking back into it though. Might have to get in touch with the LEA support as well.
-
Nope just Fronter being slow, I am in contact with Fronter and our support been 2 weeks now!
-
Lol I wish, its been going on since I started using it which was about April. It probably happened before also but we wouldn't have noticed it as noone was using it. We are on the Fronter.com/Somerset node I guess. It has database issues yesterday, but noone logged on yesterday at all. So no worry about high usage here lol

Our Smartcache seems to be causing some errors with it apparently also, I'm not sure why though. I will have to try the site from home sometime. I don't have interwebz at the moment though.

I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problems I am having with Fronter. 1. Its incredibly slow, yesterday I waited for 16 seconds for my help page to load, it makes editing pages so tedious and I am struggling to get any sort of staff enthusiasm for it when it is so slow. ( We have 100MB connection as we are a hub school ) 2. It wanting to be routed round proxy servers. Why is this? And how does it help? 3. I am having problems with parts of pages just not loading, either giving a Connection Refused error (111) or just pictures / javascript not loading and filling the pages with red crosses and making java apps not non functional. If anyone else is facing these issues please let me know!! Just so I know we are not alone! And if we are alone what are we doing wrong! Also check this out: World's Worst Website It is hilariously similar to all pages created with Fronter!

I totally agree with this, my brother went to SA and got told to sleep with a bat!

I had a look around a while back and couldn't find a converter to go back to an XP compatible format. I ended up telling the students to finalise the video in vista and bring it in as a WMV

The flickering is unlikely due to the pixels in the screen but more likely to be the lamp in the screens. I agree with a power issue maybe low voltage. I had an energy saver bulb which I put in a dimmer once, was an interesting strobe effect, but sounds like it could be a similar problem with your screens :S (Maybe not a dimmer switch though )

lol packard bell are a pain to get the recovery media for, if you wipe the drive you basically have to take it back to a PB registered dealer (PC World) becuase the hard drive needs to have a DMI tattoo as they all have generic disks for a whole series of computers. Interesting shop that does that though, :s Maybe they stole a component from the motherboard needed for jack and network cable removals ? lol

With a smartcache if you want to unblock the domain *.hotmail.com the easiest way is allow hotmail.com without any wildcards it unblocks the entire domain you may need to look at live.com also

Only NovaT4 problems I have had have been related to PCL6 printers being set as defualt. If applicable set a PCL5 driver as default and see if it helps.

ah I have the original! I really want that one! Monkey Island is a def for the HTC phones, SCUMMVM will let you play loads of the old great games! Including The 7th Guest!

I would say a PSU is one of the most important parts of a gaming rig. The 295GTX is a power hog, keeping the voltages stable keeps your PC running smoothly for many more years than a cheap 500W one. The less stress on the PSU the less fluctuation you should have in a good PSU. Plus it keeps the options open for xfire and SLI for later

mATX board will look like a slice of bread in an oven in that case

I beleive you can have a full blown 4 card system with ATi also. So 4 x 5870's would certainly handle everything u wanted Ok so maybe a little overkill, but Crysis on a Dell 32" Ultrasharp in full res with full AA sounds very appealing! .... Now if only I could survive without food for a few months!

ATI HD Radeon 5870: The Fastest Videocard Ever (PS It's $380) - Page 1 | Maximum PC I would also point out the very low power consumption of the 5870 just under 30 watts idle. (We all like to be green while playing shoot em ups after all)

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZDTjI9oOpY&feature=sub]YouTube- 5870 vs GTX295 Maxishine Video[/ame] ATi have really done well with the new set of cards, I bought a 4870 when it first came out and have been so happy with it. I can still run nearly everything at pretty much full and it works well.

consoles are where people who aren't good enough to play on pc's reside *waits for the flames* hehe
-
mmm i would suggest the 5870 as performance is SO much better per £ than the nVidia cards. Also would suggest the intel Core i7 as otherwise you limit the performance of the high end GFX cards, 920 can be overclocked if u feel the need also
