Yeah the reviews for one I looked at a while back said they were great but some people on forums had dead ones and just wanted the data back. With a nice format like ext3 or fat its possible but the NAS was using some weird proprietry disk format which means you have to buy another NAS of the same brand to get the data back. :s

I used to use Astra 32 for finding out stuff like that it scans and tells you: ASTRA32 - Advanced System Information Tool

Do the netgear NAS units still use a weird disk format that isn't readable by anything but the NAS? Only cus if the NAS broke I would like to take out one of the mirrors and be able to read it!

We have 53 printers logged on my database. We have around 900 students. We are trying to replace the more expensive ones with lasers of the same type! Hopefully, gradually, we will reduce the number of printers.

Have you logged onto the machine in question and checked the flash player version? We have had problems with some MSI's which have the flashplayer ocx in the MSI and overwrite the new one with version 6!!

I think something that a lot of places forget is that once the site is made how do you keep it running. Why don't you reserve that IP for the mac address in DHCP so that even if it fallls back to DHCP it automatically gets the right address? That way you are covered from both angles.

My problem had to do with that a member of staff kept uninstalling the Client for Microsoft Networks option from network settings!! Have you checked all the correct options are there?

Indeed I beleive in the ini file for the CD ROM Player package (In Package control/Tools) there is a line which reads Dependencies=CDROM Player Repair This is the same for all packages in the RM system, this line in the INI file dictates what packages the install depends on

I don't consider an electronic 'Who wants to be a millionaire' style voting system a 'new' way to teach something. Gimmick is definitely the word I would use there. We aren't taught to kill animals for food because we live in a society. Each person does their own tasks, but we ALL talk and write stuff down!

Its needed because its the foundation of our language. Forming the letters manually gives a much better understanding as you are taught them over and over. Pressing the E key on the keyboard and making the phonetic sound just doesn't cut it imho. It also re-enforces a very important skill which is hand eye coordination. To be quite honest I am against silly gimmick technology in schools. I am very much for, though, teaching people how to use the internet and computers well, showing them how to get information from the web and making sure they understand that not all of Wikipedia is gospel!

A lot of the time 'popular' (with boy racers) cars have a mark up on insurance which isn't always applicable to performance. I had a micra and my insurance was pretty cheap. Was an awesome car too, until 3rd gear stopped working. Not bad for 1 clutch it did 144000 miles in all . I was a sad day when I took it to the scrap yard Also I was always taught to only use first gear w/ clutch if you were the first in the queue of traffic and never any cars behind. This was due to the fact that if someone crashes into your rear you will almost certainly bash the guy in front and your insurance can be invalid if this is proved.

We had this same problem in an old rental place we used to live in. It was the TV mostly here though, usually E4 when the Ads kick in at about 20DB louder than the program itself! The the GODDAMN Hollyoaks music! ARRRGGHH. The thing that made us move in the end was the parents went away for a week and their daughter had a party in which we could hear people talking in their kitchen next door!! We went and knocked on the door 3 times in total while we were there, and continuously banged on the wall didn't make any difference. We eventually decided to buy a flat instead and are much happier now!! I really don't know what it is about building houses etc, but I don't know why the laws regarding building construction arent tightened. For some reason the carpet is included in the sound proofing reading meaning if someone takse the carpet away and replaces it with hardwood floors (which is what we think they had next door) then its like a direct connection to your wall!!!!! We used to hear them walk around with their big hoof feet too. It was a really nice house apart from that though

I used to use linux on my home pc, but got REALLY annoyed with the updates. A number of times I ran them and it busted the Xorg stuff for my GFX card. So don't say Linux never gets a BSOD. Its more like a functional BSOD that you can still work from.... kinda.
