  1. Mmm it was a syrup can from Wilkos so I will blame the funny taste on that! hehe It wasn't that bad definitely drinkable and the smell is really nice around the brewing barrel. I did see a shop in Salisbury that did raw hops and malt in a bag which was measured so you added sugar yeast and water. I did try that one but I left it too long so it went like vinegar. I think what I am saying here is that I don't make good homebrew o well!!
  2. haha! I tried making lager a couple of times wasnt as good as the bought stuff but was still ok. The first lot was really tangy though thanks to the massive amount of sediment in the bottles! I like the idea of using apple juice! Too bad I don't like cider though
  3. What I would like proved, is how much of the debt currently is the fault of our government and how much is the fault of the collapse of the world economy. It does seem very strange that we aren't the only country who 'suddenly' has a huge national debt... I wonder how much of this mess is caused by the capitalist machine that we have to live in, driven by the uncaring bank personnel who still think that after breaking the entire globes financial situation, they can pay themselves bonuses which average 95,000 pounds for the investment arms of the banks. Its disgusting.
  4. Is this a conversation about the ridiculous cost of housing in this country or inheritance? It stands that noone on a modest wage can afford a 350,000 pound house with a monthly mortgage of 1600 pounds. I would say if I bought a house for 30k 30 years ago and sold it for 400,000 now that the 370,000 pound profit I made would be a good amount of money!!!!! Then the 0.045% equivalent tax you would pay on that investment really isn't that big a deal.
  5. Again its only taxed at amounts over that so if that person couldn't afford to pay off the inheritence etc then they could sell the house and move into a flat for twice as much money as I am paying.... Why should us Joe averages pay for the mistakes of the RIDICULOUSLY rich. I have never borrowed money recklessly or bet on risky investments and I certainly wouldn't expect people to bail me out when I ruin my career by betting on a flopped investment. So WHY OH WHY am I expected to make more sacrifices than the rich. And I mean the very rich. Why am I expecting to pay more VAT over the next few years. Have my income tax increased. While the very rich don't pay VAT due to their businesses cunningly paying for a large amount of personal possessions which they then claim back and we are then supposed to finance the 3% corp tax reduction which the rich will then revel in. It actually makes me fume thinking of the conservatives priorities. They arent in it for the country. Its for the companies who pay for their tour buses.
  6. So for 325000 pound house currently, you would be spending 1600 pound per month on the mortgage over 35 years.... if you can afford that much per month ( 60% over my take home pay ) then you are not in need of "saving". I'm sorry anything over that much money is a huge house and its not like you pay the tax up to that amount anyhow.
  7. I really don't want blue Blue = sad I agree with some of the policy ie child tax credits etc, but I seriously strongly object to reducing any taxes on the very rich from what they are now. Inheritence tax for couples is already over 600,000 pounds.... It just shows where the priorities are. its very, very sad.

    MOT!!!

For cheap car parts I use www.eurocarparts.com got my thermostat on there for 5 quid! I actually spent more on coolant than the thermostat If you type in your reg number it finds the parts for you and you can then see if you are being had or not!!
  9. Im not sure how VB compiles but on straight EXE files the string objects are visible in HEX editors so its usually quite easy to get at a password hidden straight inside. Instead of storing the passwords in the access database direct I would use VB to perform some sort of calculation on the object itself and encrypt the string before writing it to the database. This is due to the fact that with a tool like wordpad you can read the contents of the Access database in plain text. You could also try a two key approach where one half of the key is in your program and the USB method provides the other half in the form of a hidden file. The easiest way of doing this would be to write a file of a number of ints and import them and use them in your calculations. This way without both halfs the passwords would be safe even to those who are familiar with hex / wordpad editing!
  10. I am unconvinced of this 3d lark currently, I just cant imaging sitting in the comfort of my own home wearing glasses that would not look out of place on Maurice Moss from the IT Crowd. I like it for the Cinema though, am looking forward to some films in 3D!

    Teamspeak

I used to have one set up, you just need to port forward the port you have chosen to use to your machine. you will need to give the clients your external IP address as well. I did use DynDNS on mine but it is not required. Make sure the firewalls are allowing traffic from the ports also, and if you have and Symantec end user product like norton remember to use the Norton Removal tool and replace with a free AVG or Avira to make your life easier (That goes for any machine )
  12. +1 for 64Bit been using 64bit since Vista's original release and I havent had any problems at all.
  13. Is that the model with the nVidia chipset on the mobo? I have never been a fan of the Nvidia mobo stuff, seems to be a bit flakey. Try setting the bios from SATA to IDE emulation if available in the bios ( will require a rebuild after) that should put it in a more legacy mode and maybe be a bit more reliable.
  14. Glad its fixed!! The phone numbers for the Tech guys are a pain. Convineintly its ALWAYS pretty much the wrong number for this or that. What I have found especially annoying is how they dealt with my brothers case... repairing the desktop PC by taking it away and only giving him a DPD number to trace it by. Of course once it reaches the depot DPD's part is done so its impossible to trace the development of the case. It ended up being delivered back on a random weekday with no notice so of course noone was in! Not even a phone call so say its ready or an explanation. It doesn't even say any of the history on the PC now!? Who knows what journey it has been on, at least in this case its currently working though.
  15. Yesterdays debate does put in to context where the tories are concentrating their efforts. Increasing inheritence tax threshold??!? for married couples its already at 650,000.... If the tories get in I can see this site shrinking due to the amount of techs who will lose their jobs!!!!!
  16. When you play sound through any of the devices you should see some sort of output on the devices, a green bar going up and down usually I had a weird problem with realtek cards and the microsoft high def devices it was something in the order of install of the devices. I will try and find out what i did
  17. Are you telling me that you would be unhappy donating money to those who are disabled? Or children of this country so that they can grow up to be the next generation of high earners? Or to help those who are ill, or those who have lost their jobs due to the BSF machine? I could buy my house twice in one year with the take home pay from that job. Its not living in the normal world when you earn that much and I'm not saying that you should be penalised. Look around your school I bet there are a few staff who hardly pay any tax becuase the wages are so low. If the tories win I think the country will stand still, budgets will be cut and our core services are the things that will suffer. The only ones who will benefit are the elites and business, the rest of the country will be taking the fall for businesses shortcomings.
  18. So the wealthy should be given more benefits than those without wealth? Is that the way things work, ah then its my fault! I should have been born into one of those wealthy families then I would be able to pay less tax!! I just don't get it, we shouldn't bash them for being wealthy but they shouldn't be able to get out of these things. Also things like plane tax.... its on per person.. so a plane carrying a full load of packages but no passengers it is taxed almost nothing but a plane full of passengers is taxed more? Surely we should be encouraging the use of full passenger planes?!?!? I swear things are backwards!
  19. Yes but is it a fair society where the rich can afford lawyers to get them out of paying tax? Or that people earning 70,000 get the same child tax benefits as those with less than 30,000? Its not about scamming the rich because they have done well. Its about not allowing unfair practices to continue amongst the elites. Why should they enjoy free will in society and freely laugh as they pay 3/4 of their would be tax bill to lawers so that they can get out of paying a penny in income tax to the country? Its madness how anyone can see it as anything but greed.
  20. Are you denying the policy of not means testing benefits? So they are still paid out to the highest earners? Or that they refuse to close loopholes in the law that allow the richest to prosper while the poor become poorer? Tory policy is fine on the surface but dig deeper and its still the same old rotting corpse it was in the 90s.
  21. Probably true but it still stands that their idea of a big society is where the big wigs are bigger and the normal people have less power. Plus Cameron is a tool.
  22. I dread to think of a conservative government. They are a reverse robin hood. Take from the poor and give the rich further tax breaks. Clegg has some excellent statistics. Bottom 20% of earners pay a higher percentage of their income as tax than the top 20% of earners due to loopholes and capital gains tax breaks. Its sheer madness how an apparent government who label themselves as a party for working class people could not stop this greed from the highest earners. I know for sure that the conservatives wont do anything to stop anything like that, i can see them taxing the poor more in fact.
  23. Good Ol' Browner!! That is the ultimate in foot in mouth syndrome!
  24. I always found Sonys quite difficult to take apart! One of the old ones I had to work on needed the complete removal of all keyboard, top assembly and part of the sound board just to get to the hard drive!!! Have you tried the air can method? Much safer
  25. So you have loads of DHCP servers? Could they be dishing out the same IP more than once? I would say that the AP's are just swamped, quite frankly unmanaged systems quickly become unmanagable with anything more than a few users.
