The rules were properly followed. Mercedes claim they weren't, the FIA reject that. Max at the end took a gamble on changing tyres. It worked. Mercedes decided not to. That's how it works. What kind of bizarre competition would allow the face to finish a lap early, or behind a safety car when it wasn't needed anymore just so an angry short-tempered Austrian and an arrogant Brit can get their own way? Oh and Max changed his first set of hard tyres under the virtual safety car, which then Lewis complained about because it only put him 14 seconds behind not 23. THAT is when Lewis should've changed his. He then changed again to softs under the full safety car. Lewis had two opportunities to take advantage of the virtual and then real safety car to change his tyres, and failed to do so, both times. Absolutely fair to point out the strategy failed him. Next you'll be complaining its unfair Checo held him up!

Because of the tyres, which he should've changed as soon as Max put his second set of hards on. So if Lewis had of changed his tyres and been behind Max on the track with a free lap to go, he might have been able to overtake him. But he wasn't going to risk that because he knew if both of them got taken out Max would've won. Lewis had (once again) bad pit strategy, and it wasn't the first or even second time this season they got that wrong. It's really as simple as that. Once again, you win some, you lose some.

If it happens, it should absolutely be broadcast. I think we've got to find out how manipulative they can attempt to be. That saying, Masi or any race director should be firmer from the get-go with them. Both Toto and Horner have clearly had too much influence over Masi this year.

Horner totally got under Toto's skin, and it showed. He really doesn't have the temprement when under any kind of pressure.

AKA The chequered flag should've been taken under a safety car, or we shouldn't have gone racing at all and just give Lewis the win by default.

Thats it. Let's make up rules to benefit Lewis, when there are specifically rules that state a Race Director has the ultimate say on how the safety car is used, but not the red flag. Honestly, across the season Lewis has had so many decisions go his way, I can understand why his fans have got used to that being the status quo but its starting to feel like:

If he'd have gone in for a change at the first opportunity when Max put on a second set of hards, then he'd not have been struggling on tyres that had gone 40+ laps at the end. You mean like radioing into race control to beg them not to bring out the safety car in one of the tightest, most dangerous part of the track to have a multi car crash if someone had gone into Latifi's Williams? I'd be more upset that as a fan of a team that uses engines provided by my favourite team, who I'm taking their driver for the next season caused my team to lose the Drivers Championship. Lewis lost. He shouldn't have been in the position to be on same points going into the final race in the first place as he had been treated incredibly leniently all season for a number of misdemeanours. You win some, you lose some.

Well if that was the case, Max would've won this season with races to spare, considering: Silverstone and Hamilton being left space but lunging ending up with 5 second penalty for Hamilton still leaving him first vs 0 points and losing one of his engines. Monza being a clear example of Hamilton not giving space for Verstappen, yet Verstappen got a 3 grid place penalty for it, even though he was more along side than Hamilton at Silverstone AND made the Apex. Botta's ridiculous standards of driving at the Hungaroring wiping out Verstappen. The penalties Lewis didn't get in Saudi Arabia speeding under yellows "he didn't see" compared to the ones Verstappen got in Qatar where the yellow flag warnings flicked on and off continually. Like I said, Mercedes do not want to open up the can of worms about "unfair treatment" because they've had all the luck this season until the last race.

Right - It's as simple as this: If it is a new contract and not a renewal, your contract will automatically expire and you don't have to give notice of your intention to quit. If it is a renewl and not a new contract, your contract will automatically renew and you don't have to give notice of your intention to renew. At the moment everything seems contradictory, so I would still give notice to make sure you're not stuck in a contract you might not want, as they will always renew you last minute. It wouldn't be any sweat off ESS's brow to do so, if you decide to remain. They're hardly going to turn down your money. So play it safe and give your notice, I'd say.

It really was a bad decision for Lewis not to come in for tyres sooner, and Lewis, Mercedes and his fans know it. Mercede's biggest frustration is clearly that the change of the rules for 2022 means they're not sure they'll be so clearly top of the pack anymore. They won't win through courts, and it's quite ugly that they're going this route to be honest. Mercede's have had more than their fair share of Masi whim decisions particularly at Silverstone, and Hungaroring. Masi might leave, but the result is the result.

Yes, but this isn't the first time Mercedes have made bad decisions regarding tyres and pit stops this season and as for Safety Car behaviour, the Race Director has ultimate say, as should be the case. The big problem this season was Wolff and Horner bullying Masi all season, and Masi not getting to grips with their behaviour sooner, especially Toto's rage tantrums which are really, really unbecoming. Managed to get a spot on Saturday when my sister noticed that they'd opened the booster shots up early for 30-39 year olds, so I managed to sneak in for mine yesterday.
