elsiegee40 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 By my watch they'll have been let in by now, so the first few geeks will be starting their hoard of BETT freebies. C'mon guys and girls, what's on offer this year?
Zoom7000 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed by the freebies on offer. In fact, there was little to nothing that really interested me in the whole show. Austerity times are definitely on show this year at BETT.
X-13 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I got a frog cup, and am trying for at least 2 more. Plus some others I saw, but didn't get a chance to try for. There's also an iDevice case seller giving out £12 iPad stylus', but our IT co-ord couldn't get one. I have a plan...
dhicks Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 C'mon guys and girls, what's on offer this year? If we understood the offer correctly, Meraki are giving out free wireless access points to people who view their webinar.
Edu-IT Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If we understood the offer correctly, Meraki are giving out free wireless access points to people who view their webinar. Seems so. Meraki | Free Access Point Details
plexer Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Meraki have been doing that for ages anyway I've got one. Ben
FragglePete Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I've been taken back by the glut of Pick 'n' Mix at a quite a number of stands; great if you need a sugar rush to get round. Overall, as always a tiring but informative day - I always go to these events and wonder if we should be doing that, and this, and that too; but overall it gives us a nudge but we're doing ok as is thank you. My main freebie I guess was a Mug and Pen - you only have to carry it all back on the train with you. Pete
glennda Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Meraki certianly do give you out trial units, as it then becomes completely useless if you don't purchase it and a license for the cloud controller, Although they seem a bit slack in asking for them back. At present sitting on my desk is am MR16, MX80 and a MS something or other 48 port poe switch.
sjatkn Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) MendIT have some mugs to give away. Smoothwall - bottle opener keyrings. I really wanted a mug as my colleague broke mine. Frog - Stress balls with funny horns. Lots of pens from everywhere. Impero - A4 ringbound notepads if they like you. Richo - pots of coloured pencil crayons Redstor & Richo - cotton shopping bags. Joskos - Computer shaped foam stress thingy (can't call it a ball!). I was disappointed not to find SoftCat. Actually it was a good day today. Managed to bump into an old friend (Heather at Loxit) and met up with a number of potentially useful suppliers (@Net-Ctrl). I forget which company it is, but they have a Caterham F1 car in the mall outside the main hall (roughly entrance N6). Edited January 30, 2013 by sjatkn Added the F1 car.
FN-GM Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I got a free cable tester. I attached the Smoothwall bottle opener to my car keys. The Pick a Mix on the Stone stand is good.

I had too much of this and felt sick :-( I got a torch from a company called copylogic stress balls + bottle opener from Smoothwall Purple stress cat from Softcat Edugeek Lanyard and bottle opener :-) Lots of pens..... Nothing massively exciting really
crc-ict Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 If we understood the offer correctly, Meraki are giving out free wireless access points to people who view their webinar. Although, if it is anything like registering for their iPad manager tool, you will be plagued by marketing contact for the rest of your life...
sjatkn Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I gave one of the Frog stress balls to my 6 year old, after asking what it was, he said "What do you do with these (pointing at the horns), stick them up your nose!". I would love to go back now an pass that on to them!
arthur231283 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I got a mini tool kit and a screw driver that looks like a pen from the switchshop stand. I got the mini frog space hopper, a colouring book with set of pencils from Ricoh (This went down well with my 2 year old) and a few pens. There was one stand that had footballs but I wasn't brave enough to grab one and run
VeryPC Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Anyone at BETT who fancies an AWESOME free VeryPC pen can call me on 07528 202726 and we'll meet up. Would be great to put faces to the Edugeek names too. We're not exhibiting this year, but I am visiting for a few meetings and will be around most of today and tomorrow. Al, the marketing guy.
Edu-IT Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I attached the Smoothwall bottle opener to my car keys. For convenience when driving? 1
mdrabble Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Since i've not been able to go due to a fractured foot, my technician has gone with the instructions of pleading my sob story in order to try and get extra freebies :-)
rickjames Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Edugeek lanyard and bottle opener Google mints Casio bag full of pens, notepad Softcat/Frog stressballs Impero mug SMART clappy thing, quite annoying Lots of coffee from RM
