sparkeh Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Ok couple of things I have noticed this morning: 1) I have turned off notifications, but am still getting notifications. 2) Signatures don't seem to be added to posts.

Ive got it runing on my phone and it shows my signature. I haven't enabled the signature in the app, it uses my signature from website Edit: this was posted from app
aerospacemango Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Looking good on my galaxy! Great work, @ZeroHour

Devontechie Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Sorry got all mixed up in that post. Is it adding your sig from app or not? Nope. I've got no sig in app.
aerospacemango Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Sorry got all mixed up in that post. Is it adding your sig from app or not? Right....as far as sig goes.... My sig "in APP" is different to the website sig. But coming on here shows my normal sig....but I don't see *ANY* sigs through the app. (Not sure I've cleared that up at all!!)
sparkeh Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (Not sure I've cleared that up at all!!) Bwahaha! Ok so, I have no sig setup on the website version, I have a sig on the app version but I don't see it on either.
MYK-IT Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Isn't that what the "latest" tab does? My fault, i had been using it without logging in! Wow, much better after logging in...ooops...
ZeroHour Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Signatures: The app follows the plugin rules (we disabled app's own sigs) and should follow your site settings currently. Notifications: I will do some testing with that now. Apple App Store Status: Waiting For Review.....
LosOjos Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 'tis awesome, but I fear for my productivity...
aerospacemango Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) One thing I have noticed is the lack of notifications! Although that may be down to changing the ROM so much. Also, despite it being in the settings, I don't seem to go to the last unread post in a thread. These are probably both due to the build I'm on so no panic necessary! bmdixon Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Not related to this post but on the front page it says 35 comments, at the top it says 1 and then it says there are 9 just above the comments... something gone a bit wrong...
Rawns Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Works a treat on my HTC Desire HD! Me <3 Dark Mode!
soveryapt Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Looking forward to the iOS version coming on stream! I was just thinking the other day "with all these techies about, why doesn't Edugeek have an App?" and look .. we do .. YAY!
aerospacemango Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Oh by the way.... Notifications ARE working!! Just thought you'd like to know! Am I mistaken in thinking that there used to be an Edugeek app? I'm sure I remember having it on my phone a year or so ago ?

This is lovely vbulletin bug they still have not been able to fix where the cache for the CMS is not regularly purged properly, I have kicked it into touch again though. @aerospacemango if your rom is hard baked to save power and close background tasks then you wont get notifications, hopefully later versions will be able to use googles push service (similar to iOS) which means that task doesn't need to run. Edit: no just a mobile style.
LosOjos Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Apps looking great, just one minor niggle (I apologise if this has already been covered): [i'm using Android BTW] When you open a notification to read a thread, there doesn't appear to be any way to get to any other part of the app, you're stuck in that thread alone. It'd be nice if there was a home button or something similar. Minor niggle over, congrats on the great work!
sparkeh Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Notifications: I will do some testing with that now. Well, my phone was being weird this morning generally so I restarted it and the notifications are no longer appearing.

I suffer the same problem with the XDA app....once you hit the notification, there's no way back! * I may, in fact, be an idiot, and have missed something, so if anyone knows any different, I'd be glad of the knowledge!
LosOjos Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Yeah I don't use any other tapatalk apps so im afraid I don't know which are EG issues and which are tapatalk!

SYNACK Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Nexus 7 tap a talk tab beta works fine with notifications apart from the beta related crashes it's very persistent. Despite the lacklustre state of the nexus 7.
