Joedetic Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 It does sound like a KVM over IP box...trouble is...you need the other one.
bishopsgarthstockton Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 dust... tidied my office last week, and its still remaind very clean and tidy, so much so the cleaners and staff have commented and praised me
john Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Office Tidying won't happen until the 5th week of the new term as come the last week of the holidays all the bits that are lying round the IT centre will come into my office as they cannot be left lying around, and there they shall stay for a few weeks whilst we get back to grips with Forgotten Password, new unauthorised software and other things. As for strange things, a dead mouse, RM Sucessmaker original disk in a posh RM folder, Satellite, reels of cable, 486DX PCs, 5 1/4" floppy disks and drive, old 3Com 10speed hubs
mtdmitchell Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 i have recently discovered a 10.5 inch reel of 9 track tape labelled backup, also last year I found 20 new retro tumbler glasses which the wife really appreciated!

john Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Could be messy....... Just hide the mess in the stack of invoices going to the bursar's office )I agree Joe, stuff the remains in the pile to the bursars office
sidewinder Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Last place I cleared out was our old storeroom, nothing very interesting except a ton of NT4 CALs - only interesting because the school only ever started with 2000 Server as far as I was aware! Our office is boring though because there has been quite a few moves Umm found some brand new sealed Creative soundcards circa 1995 in the library, few old Acorns, nothing much more interesting. Id love to find a whole room of old computers but I dont think there is one at my school. Probably a good thing as Im incapable of throwing anything out - Id have it all in my garage and spend forever trying to give it away to people
eejit Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 A parallel port webcam 8O Wow, I can't believe that such a thing existed, I bet that was pricey at the time.

CHR1S Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Shergar??? isn’t that a race horse I hope u didn’t find that in a box or a cupboard. Probably found in a few unmarked tin cans
gwendes Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 It does sound like a KVM over IP box...trouble is...you need the other one. Plugged in near a server? Tidying just creates spaces for people to leave things that don't work!
dave.81 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Erm cupboards, store rooms.... i have none of this to tidy, i have4 shelves and anything i can hide under the desks's in the IT Suites. Although i do need to tidy my shelves and some point i've lost the will to live in there somewhere....
localzuk Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I just found some VGA -> S-Video and Composite adapters that are powered by PS2, and a weird box with about a dozen phone cables coming out of it :S
