gream0604 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Hello All, Looking for some help and advice really. we are looking at implementing a video delivery system, and was wondering what you guys use? I have been looking at the Octopus System, built on Drupal, and the Mediacore Community Edition. Thanks
Sylv3r Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Take a look at this - it may take a bit of tweaking and setting up as it certainly isn't ready to go out of the box, but it works well for us plus it's free - other than the cost of setting up and the hardware to run it on of course. Edu-IT Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 ClickView. Works, not always straight away; had a few issues, some were a bit of a struggle to iron out, but very helpful tech guys. Not the cheapest though. Although very good at what it does, and I'm not sure there's really anything else out there like it.
bossman Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 (edited) @Sylv3r: Ditto here, only drawback is that you have to convert everything to wmv format, what I would like is a self help web gui front end a little like youtube were the staff and students can upload their own videos, obviously requiring admin restrictions as in video has to be vetted before it is set to live. Something like this: MediaCore in education or the free opensource version: http://mediacorecommunity.org/ Edited October 18, 2012 by bossman
