Hello all

 

My name is Logan, from Lawrence, MA, USA

I help manage 19 schools for the Lawrence Public Schools as one of the "Senior Network Analysts", which of my point of view, is just a fancy name for the HR Department to call a IT Tech that knows a bit of everything, not afraid to learn and/or hasn't learn to stop touching things outside of his/her comfort zone.

New to the forum ( first one i have ever joined ! )

 

I am the MD of a Printer supplier to schools etc . ( 20 + years )

 

Probably most help in matters relating to contracts ,leases etc

 

Bit of a minefield out there.

I'm Adam, I work at Wellfield Business & Enterprise College in Leyland, Lancs. I am an IT Technician and started in November 2011.

 

I have used this site greatly over the last year and it has helped to solve problems and keep me entertained.

 

Don't know what else to put apart from thanks for such a helpful and great site.

It's fine, you'll start off reading posts here and feeling thoroughly inadequate because you can't understand half of what's said and meekly trying suggestions without really knowing what's going, but just being thankful that it worked... and in a year's time you'll be the one handing out random chunks of advice and saving people's bacon at short notice. And thus will the ring network of life continue ever on.

Hey guys.

 

Newly qualified IT Technician here (A+, MTA OS/Network/Server/Security, I know it's not much). Currently the IT guy at a primary school, working alongside a HLTA who has been the only source of internal IT support for some time, which basically means I am the main IT guy for the school :) great experience.

Supporting a few hundred W7 PCs, laptops and netbooks (some XP remaining), as well as 4 Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. Working here until April to finish my apprenticeship and hopefully they'll keep me on, they want me to stay but it just depends on school budget :)

 

Used this forum for a while now for answers so I'm looking forward to getting into discussions and getting to know the regulars.

Hi All,

 

I've been browsing the Edugeek job board for a while now and have only recently decided to join.

 

I've been thinking of changing career and a close family friend recommended this site. The only problem is i've only got the following exams under my belt (Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment) & (Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional)

 

Sadly, I feel as though this is pretty useless without actually being in an environment where I can apply the skills.

 

Any help/suggestions are welcome.

@suj_2000 Can I suggest that you start a thread in General Chat, telling us a bit more about yourself, what you do and what you are looking for etc. Then you can get advice from the many people on here
