Hi all. Been encouraged to join by my new manager @BKGarry

Glad to see that @BKGarry is encouraging his team to join. This forum has saved my life, and that of many of the other members, more than once.

Drop in regularly to keep an eye on what’s causing problems; it’s worth it. It can save a lot of time when you realise that the problem you have has already being discussed on EduGeek :)

Genuinely saved one comms room of mine about 6 years ago when I remembered a thread about UPS batteries giving off an eggy/sulphury smell before they go pop-pop-kaboom.

Welcome newbies! :)

Here is that thread:

I posted what I thought was an odd story, and an unusual occurrence. I didn't anticipate that it would be "used in anger" You never know what might be useful, it turns out!

Welcome to all the new members!

Hello all, nice to see an old school web forum still thriving these days! I'm a remote support tech with a London centric solutions provider, although I live in Yorkshire. Not going to put their name on my profile for confidentiality reasons, hope you understand :)

:welcome: and well done for securing a remote job - many on here will be envious!
