Not work related, but I would like to create an assortment of tools to healthcheck a PC eg spyware, antivirus, disk defgrament and file cleaner (open source of course). I would like to automate the process via script, but would like some pointers of how to do it, what switches I would need to run a program install, automate the tasks, uninstall the program and move to the next tool etc. Just getting lots of requests to sort out friends and relatives PCs and looking to simplify the process.

Is this possible? Any advice would be great.

This would be a great point for me to start understanding the basics lol ;)

Thanks!

Why not simply install the programs first (deploy however you wish) then script their operation? Many 'maintenance' programs such as Ccleaner already allow for scripted use (CCleaner - Advanced Usage) and it will save the time, bandwidth and potential for borkage if they are already in place. Just ensure you set the correct policies to prevent pupil access.

When im doing friends PC's i use Ninite Just choose which programmes you want download the package click run and watch it go :) You can also just use the same package and keep it on a USB depending what you install only takes about 5-10 Minutes.
