Little-Miss Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Anyone know of a decent priced disposal company? For a quote of £200 already, it's hard not to be tempted to remove the hard drives and shove them in a skip thats sitting in my playground!
6Foot2 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 We use RecycledIT. Link: Recycled IT | Free Computer Recycling | PC Disposal | Free IT disposal for all with ZERO LANDFILL We have found them to be helpful and efficient [best of all free!] Have a chat with them. I am sure that they will be able to help you. 2
TechSupp Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Have used Lancashire Computer Waste Disposal (pick up.most areas) and one mentioned on here before, Green Technology think they are called, both free. 1

synaesthesia Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 PRM Green here - http://www.prmgreentech.com - very reliable, friendly, certificates all provided, free. Not far from you either 3
Chris_ Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 We've used RRIT (Based in Cannock, so not too far from you). They were very prompt at arranging a collection date within a few days of ringing them. Turned up right on time also (and they were free, collection was mainly CRT monitors also). www.RRIT.co.uk - Home 1

witch Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 If you want some money - take them down the local scrap merchant - they will happily buy them for a few quid
Little-Miss Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 I used RRIT. Very friendly, very prompt and were very helpful when I explained my urgency and situation. 1
Andie Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I used RRIT after checking for firms on here. They collected back in the middle of October, but I am still waiting for paperwork (other than the waste transfer note the collection guy left) despite having chased this up twice. Not likely to use them again...
beany1 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Don't use RRIT! Same as Andie - used them last june, still waiting for the destruction certs. I call twice a week and email, each time fobs me off. Bunch of cowboys. 1
Andie Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Don't use RRIT! Same as Andie - used them last june, still waiting for the destruction certs. I call twice a week and email, each time fobs me off. Bunch of cowboys. So we should send them this link...? Oh how I wish I knew that before I let my stuff go.... Still waiting!
beany1 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) Just called them again, Marc answered - told me he would email me it while I was on the phone (they have posted me the cert apparently) and then the phone cut off can't get back through now...surprise. [email protected] if your interested - he sent me a "test" email before because apparently my email wasn't working! Edited December 5, 2012 by beany1 email reason
beany1 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Well apparently all it needed was a quick moan on here! After 6 months of calling, I eventually have my cert!! Use RRIT at your own peril! 1
Andie Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Then I shall email again, mentioning this thread and hopefully I will finally get somewhere.
