windows 7 audio problem

Hi ,

 

recently i changed the default theme of windows 7 professional in my PC using a theme patcher. But after that if i play any audio or video file sound is not coming. Please help me on this

If you change the theme back to a Windows 7 theme, does the sound work correctly?

yes i tried tht but again same problem.......

I suspect the problems are unrelated and that you just have an audio problem. Looking in Control Panel > Device Manager you can check whether all drivers are installed correctly.

Hi,

I suggest you the following solutions:

1. Check in the settings of the wallpaper you may find the sound control, if so check that it may not be muted

2. Uninstall the patch if you can, and check again for the issue

3. reset your audio drivers

@Michael ..... I have checked in device manager..... soundcard driver is properly installed and in its status it is showing it is working but still i m not getting any sound.

 

 

 

@mobisallen .... i reinstalled audio driver 2-3 times but it is not working. Can u please help me o how to uninstall the patch??

Try it from Control Panel => Programs and Features, or you may have the option in Start Menu => Particular Program => Uninstall

Or you may get the option to uninstall once you run the theme interface(If they provide it)

Is the volume turned down on the device or in the system tray?

 

Don't mean to be patronising, but it's really easy to overlook something simple when you are convinced it's something complicated!

are you testing the sound using only windows media player, if so the mute button on that is very subtle.

Or if its muted, also if it is realtek then you have to use the realtek audio control panel to swap if its using 2.0 stereo speakers or headphones etc

 

Also if you go to start --> run --> services.msc ( start --> control panel --> administrative tools --> services )

 

Restart the windows audio service

May be the patcher you have installed in your machine destroyed your sound driver. Kindly re install sound driver again

I have issues with my sound as well but only happens when something triggered it which still unknown on my Windows 7 Pro Laptop. I usually fix that bu restarting windows or window audio service. If re installing your sound card drivers then I might think that your sound card is faulty. It could be a virus messing with parts of your system. <- I am just guessing.
