In my opinion Galaxy Tab is a better option as compared to iPad, the reason being very obvious the OS For the android you have a lottttt of applications free of cost for your students. You should better check the android market for the applications available there. For the iPad you will not find as much application and specially the free ones I have downloaded a lot of free applications for my kids and most of them are very interesting.

Yes, Movie maker is the best option for the starters as it gives all the features required at the basic level, most important is that it is available free of cost. For windows 7 it is not built-in but you can install it free. VCD cutter is also a very easy & useful software just for cutting and merging the videos.

I don't think there is any option like this in excel to print only the bold text, try copy past the data in other workbook or if it doesn't solve the problem, try to copy past it in new excel file. If the problem persists re-install the that's the only option in this case.
