northerner_chris Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Just wondering if anyone has any experience of using a company called QC Supplies and in particular their C6Digital print solutions? C6Digital is some free software (as long as you keep buying toners from them) which seems to be based on printfleet.com monitors printers and alerts you when toner is getting low so you can re-order supplies etc. Similar to Papercut or PCounter. Any information is much appreciated, Thanks, Chris
Sylv3r Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I received a kitkat this week in the post from QC Supplies.
Ashm Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I received a kitkat this week in the post from QC Supplies. Same here, haven't actually bought anything from them!
Big_Ted Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 searching for C6Digital on google brings up this thread as the second link so bit tough to see what you get for your money. I personally would look at a solution that did not tie me into 1 vendor
glennda Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I use Sillicon Alleys Inkwell - once a month we do a stock check of toners they hold on our site and bill us for any we have used. Works really well and prices are competitive.
northerner_chris Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 From what I can gather the idea of the C6Digital solution from QC Supplies is that you keep your existing printers, install this software on the server, it monitors all the printers on your network and lets you know when you need to order more. Of course you have to buy the supplies from QC but they do do compatible toners to keep costs down. I've never heard of this sort of solution but it sounds good, all of the other print solutions I've come across ask you to buy new specific printers which will go on a contract and can only buy original toners at whatever price they say. Does anyone know of any other companies offering the same kind of solution that QC are? As far as I know if I sign up to the solution I'm not tied to them, even if they put the prices up on toners I believe we can just uninstall the software and go elsewhere for toners. The Sillicon Alleys Inkwell idea sounds good, what are they like on price for toners? Do you have to sign up for so many years or can you end the deal as and when? Also do they supply compatibles or just originals? Thanks, Chris
newpersn Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 We are using QC's. When i do a big order (4+ more of toners we get a pack of Biccys Xmas we had a Box of Chocolates, We had all sorts from them. Prices are good aswell. Normaly turn up next day aswell Nerver head of the C6Digital Print soluition tho? More information on that please Thanks
pete Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 We've been using QC Supplies as our sole supplier of Toner for.....about 3 years, maybe more. They're good, delivery responsiveness and pricing (if you're a member of the Crescent Purchasing Consortium, at least) is rather good - sufficiently so that it discourages and disheartens other toner salesmen. They won't call you about football shirts or anything daft and if an order is delayed or wrong, they'll send you chocolate to apologise. Haven't used the monitoring software.
