Papercut multi users to one code
Big_Ted replied to Turnitoffandonagain's topic in Enterprise Software
you may find you waste paper this way, if teachers are just allowing everything your cost savings will change. -
Got any logs from the time it happened? what about the /user page or the embedded side of things, are they working?
-
every release has that chance but yes, i agree wait a week or so and keep an eye on known issues. only upgrade if you need something
-
It might be worth checking with spamhaus that your mail server is not flagged for sending spam. Pretty sure you specify an account for the "from" when using 0365 instead of impersonation. If it did work and nothing changed with papercut it would point to a config issue

19.0.4 is out. go go go
-
what devices do you have?
-
new release: https://www.papercut.com/products/mf/release-history/

It would be worth comparing it to other job ticketing products. Given the recent updates the feedback has been good, there is also a low-cost mini lab option from memory as well.
-
Ahh a password, no papercut does not do this but i am sure it is on a list of things to do somewhere.
-
have you run wireshark to see about the encryption ?
-
https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/FirewallPorts should have it all, there are a few to do.
-
you only need to upgrade some platforms (embedded platforms) others are web services and upgrade when the server updates. also - install 19.0.2

Too much memory can be a bad thing for a java based app like papercut
-
Hello, Correct you can't change trays, that would need to be set at time of print. Can't you continue to print to the device box and still track them? Have you checked that the scan is unencrypted? do you mean in delivery?
-
on the users tab select the small excel icon at the bottom and then arrange by restricted and it will auto sort.
-
now you need to go back to the people you asked for help and tell them some random dude on the internet fixed it

papercut does very very little with print jobs from a technical POV. Sure it can pause, convert them, redirect them etc but the actual impact on that print job is not a lot. So if your current print server can cope with large file sizes then all should be good. Having multiple print servers is not rare and as their is no license impact also not a problem. Some people split them up to share the load around. With a print job you never know how big the spool file will be, from a technical POV we see print jobs over 3GB fairly often (no idea why) and they work fine assuming the network can cope.

Hiya, Known issue, upgrade to the latest version. There was a bug in the early build of 18.3 that stopped some bulk actions applying. It was raised by us to papercut on day one of release and fixed soon after. No need to update java either, has no real impact on papercut. They are on 18.3.6 now with 18.3.7 expected next week. Upgrade, if it is still an issue after enable debug and attach some logs.

PaperCut serving students with £1 printer credit tokens
Big_Ted replied to chrisjako's topic in Enterprise Software
you can get top up value loaders, the downside is the cost and that someone has to physically deal with the money (a security and trust issue). You could look at using an online payment system such as paypal or if you operate something like wisepay or parentpay you can use the funds for that within papercut. The top up method you mention is just selling a card/paper with a value - you just need to automate the selling of that. That would be best where ever money can exchange hands at the school or chuck it in a vending machine next to the mars bars -
Papercut - Convert color jobs to grayscale for: not working ?
Big_Ted replied to caffrey's topic in Enterprise Software
yep, but there is another tick box about only applying filters to restricted users. if that is ticked and yoru urser is not restricted..nothing happens. -
Papercut - Convert color jobs to grayscale for: not working ?
Big_Ted replied to caffrey's topic in Enterprise Software
are you only applying the filter to restricted users and the test user is not restricted? if not... This can occasionally be caused by a couple of settings on the specific print queue, namely "Advanced printing features" and "Bi-Directional Support". There are details on how to change these settings here: http://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/EnableAdvancedPrintingFeatures http://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/FixingPrintSpoolerCrashes#disbidirect -
PaperCut 18.3.5 - Slow Running Scripts
Big_Ted replied to FragglePete's topic in Enterprise Software
it would be papercuts internal ref for the issue you see. If you go via Konica make sure they tell iTS about the ref so they can tell papercut. -
PaperCut 18.3.5 - Slow Running Scripts
Big_Ted replied to FragglePete's topic in Enterprise Software
raise a ticket to [email protected] Fraggle. Report the 5 second issue and quote pc-15205 in the subject. You are probably doing nothing wrong so don't waste too much time trying to fix it -
iTS act as distributor and won't sell to end users directly. You would have to work with a partner of iTS or to keep things smooth pick the company that also provides the copiers to avoid having to contact multiple companies for support.
