Hi,

I am trying to migrate from 1.5 to 2.5 at the moment. I used SPUpdate to transfer over the content because I kept getting undefined errors with jupgrade.

I've followed the guide posted by 3s-gtech above (thanks for that) and the axe template works, but there are a few glitches in the css that I'm not sure how to fix. The main difference is the vertical menu which loses the spacing, lines, and sub section indenting; but on the positive side still works.

Rokslideshow had to go, but I've managed to replace it with showplus which offers a similar slideshow component.

Akeeba backup and xampp have been really useful for this project. I even managed to get the usb version of xampp to work, so the old 1.5 site and the new 2.5 site can run, and be developed directly from my portable USB hard drive from different computers.

Hi Steve,

Has this template been released yet? Our web migration failed due errors in the config.php. We really need to get our site back up and were using the previous version of edugeeks template. Any update would be much appreciated. Cheers!

An update, even if nothing is happening, would be useful for sure.

Are people still looking for this? If so I've updated the template and am willing to share

Yes please. It's been eagerly awaited for.

Thank you for your efforts.

Did you manage to fix the menu? When I migrated the template the menu still worked but it lost the animations.

Please find upgrade attached, all positioning for modules will need to remain as is in 1.5. Any problems give me shout and I'll provide limited support.

Good catch so it does, I'll work on that tonight and update the build

I may have got this wrong - is this a template to install in 2.5? I'm getting the following errors in 2.5s extension manager

Failed loading XML file

XML: Unsupported version '2.5'

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

Path does not have a valid package

Yep it's for 2.5

I will try installing on my lunch break on clean site as I've never had that error

I take that it is to install in Joomla 2.5 but I have just got the same error when I tried adding it to my Joomla 2.5 test site.

@nickjelly I have got a template that I have made for a school website that I want to be able to release as a Joomla 2.5 template. It has taken me a little longer than I hoped because of changing jobs.

No problems @bransdscill, I thought I was losing the plot a little when it wouldn't install. Before I forget - just want a say a big thank you for putting the time in on this. As mentioned by others it's going to be much appreciated.

@stevehill06 No worries. I'm currently converting ours which deviates in module position a little from the Edugeek 1.5 template so I'm in the process of doing a diy conversion on ours.

BTW Our 1.5 site got compromised a few weeks ago. SQL injections through a tiny iframe. It's clear when reading that 1.5 has some significant vulnerabilities and so I would recommend a migration to 2.5 or 3 asap for anyone. Note the easiest of migration paths, and I'm right in the middle of it now, but will be worth it for a more secure site.
