Phoned up the Vet on Wednesday to book Dexter in to have the 'chop'. The receptionist asked me what Dexter was. For some reason, I had a complete mind shut-down and could not think! He's a ragdoll kitten but I could not recall it at the time! The receptionist asked again after a few moments of silence desperate to say something, I blurted out loudly in a high pitched voice:

"He's a PUSSYCAT!"

Around me in the office, heads peeped over monitors to give me "WTF" looks. Should have sad "He's a cat"......should have "He's a cat". :tape2:

Not to worry...fail of the week in my house is this

Mrs took mittens to get spayed, then go shopping, then come home. - Well that was the plan

She comes home with mittens post operation and a hamster called Hammy - and forgot about the shopping...she had to go back out to get the shopping!

Sure the vet was not offering a "Free hamster with ever neutering op!"? ;)

I'm more interested in where hammy came from, you shouldn't be leaving the vets with more pets than you went in with..

Maybe Hammy was in Mittens? Post op snack? :)

Hammy was Mittens present for being a good 'PUSSYCAT' ;)

The day after our cat was 'done', she went out and caught a pigeon which she managed to drag through the cat-flap into our utility room... it was still alive & not very happy! We found feathers on the floor & a bedraggled pigeon sat on top of the fridge-freezer.

My parents got a cat back when I was about 14, this one was to replace one which we had to have put to sleep due to kidney failure. The 2 cats were complete opposites in behaviour. The old one was a quiet house cat, the new one was a violent, stealth killer, with spring loaded legs for catching birds out of mid air.

We came home one day to see the cat dragging a fully grown mallard duck through the cat flap, still alive and quacking vociferously. I don't think I've ever seen a cat with a more prideful look on its fuzzy little face than that one had that day.

Well the hamster and cat seem to get along fine. Hammy is in his cage and runs on his wheel, then pokes his head out every so often to check the cat is still there, then carrys on running! When the cat comes to up the cage, he goes and sniffs the cat whilst the cat sniffs him!

Seems like they have developed a friendship, but we will see!

When I was a kid, my hamster and my friend's spaniel were fascinated by each other. Mutual nose sniffing happened every time... until my hamster sank his teeth into the dog's nose with no apparent provocation. Blood everywhere, yelping dog, hamster saunters back over to wheel....

So have you still got the hamster?! Or has he been returned to his rightful owner now?

We own the hamster now.

I'm confused. Did your wife buy the hamster while out? I read it as you found a hamster with the cat, so I assumed it somehow got in his cage at the vets and that you had some little kid's pet by accident? :)

This has gone OT but hey... I imagine @nephilim to have this happening in his house soon....

Well the cat and the hamster were both laying on me today, the hamster was laying on my chest, the cat came downstairs and decided to lay on my stomach, they just looked at each other whilst the rugby is on. Hammy eventually made a squeal that let me know he wants to go back in his cage.

A friend of mine took her dog for a walk out. She tied up the dog outside a shop and nipped in for some milk. Forgot about the dog and jumped on a bus. She then saw her own dog tied up outside the shop as the bus drove past.

We were on holiday when the kids were young and my wife was tired so I took them to one of those very big crazy golf places. When we left I drove out of the huge car park only to be stopped by the guy on the gate "Haven't you forgotten something sir? he asked. I then noticed in the rear view mirror, two little ones running and waving frantically.

I recall well when we had Hex de-noodled...Vet said "He'll be sleepy"...

Like hell he was. Psycho kitten from hell that didn't stop for 2 hours, then literally fell over and slept for a day. Bless, he was a little SOD as a kitten, now he's the most patient of my 3 cats, continually being dressed up by the daughter...heh. He was nearly named "Mofo" when we got him...

Showing you she has balls? :)

I'm probably coming at this from the wrong angle, but...are people still using the term "fail"? I thought "fail" had died along with "epic fail" and, indeed, using the word "epic" in any situation other than to describe a very long book or film. Next I'll be hearing people using "rad" and "heavy".
