Resize multiple videos at once

Does anyone here use any free software to resize videos as some are getting rather large file sizes! I'd like the ability to do a folder at a time, I would use handbrake but the videos are to be used in powerpoint and handbrake only exports to .mp4 and mkv formats

Any video converter crashs on around 45% on any video!

Any Video Converter Works perfectly for me on all videos and always has - make sure you have full permissions to the output directory.

I got fed up with the various free ones, they just weren't powerful or reliable enough, so had to splash out on Xilisoft Video Converter - which I'd been using at home for a while... IMO it's the best video converter out there, and well worth the cost...

It is a portable program and so we are running it from a central server based share at the moment [i will be deploying it to individual workstations at a later date]

Now on network, teachers and students finding it nice and easy too

Does anyone know if the anyvideo converter "freeware" licensing allows it to be used in schools or would we require a license/permission?

WinFF does batch jobs and is freeware (I think). We use it all the time - it is good.

I've been using Freemake Video Converter lately - it's fast (it can use GPU acceleration during conversion), supports lots of formats, and can even download and convert from YouTube and other video sites within the program. The only thing to watch out for is that it tries to install some useless "smilies" toolbar and homepage during setup, but you can uncheck that.

Another vote for Format Factory - I was really impressed with this for an ad-supported piece of software (not intrusive ads!) I used it to convert some .MTS files from our HD camcorders so that Windows DVD Maker could use them, it worked like a charm, and the output options are extremely flexible..

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet so I'll toss out what I use! I'm a huge fan of KoyoteSoft's Free HD Converter, and Free Video Converter. Their software is 100% free!

 

I use Free HD Converter for transcoding those AVCHD files that come in .MTS and .M2TS formats off of modern HD consumer cameras that use a highly compressed HD codec for storing the video. Free HD Converter easily makes these something that almost any video editing platform can use. This is how I batch convert all my consumer HD footage and the digital media lab at the high school uses this so they can import their footage into Premiere Pro.

 

I use Free Video Converter for everything else, and this is probably the one you'll want. If you import the videos that you want to convert and then click on one of the videos in the list, it will even tell you the resolution, audio bitrate, frame rate, and a few other useful pieces of info about the source up in the top right so you can correctly match the destination format options below and just change the format.
